Sunday 3/6

10:29 a.m. To Edgewick Dr. for a report of a domestic dispute. A woman reported that her husband woke up and started arguing with her over the dishes not being cleaned. She said that he was yelling at her and she shoved him away from her. She said she didn’t understand why deputies were called. The husband said that he called 911 because the wife had falsely accused him of domestic violence in the past and he didn’t want that to happen again. Both were advised to go their separate ways for the day to cool off.
4:14 p.m. A deputy found a license plate lying against a light pole. The plate came back as stolen from Dayton. Dayton was contacted and would not be able to pick it up. The plate was submitted into evidence.
6:24 p.m. While parked at Wot-A-Dog, a woman approached the deputy asking for assistance. The woman said that her daughter was headed to an address on Oaklawn to possibly buy drugs. She said that she was driving a car that might have been stolen. She said that a male suspect at the Oaklawn address had been stealing cars and might be storing them at the Oaklawn address. The deputy learned that the suspect had an outstanding warrant from Huber Heights for aggravated robbery. The deputy went to the address and saw the suspect vehicle leaving. He followed it to a parking lot in Medway. He approached the driver and asked him about the male suspect and was advised that the suspect was at his home. Several deputies responded to the Oaklawn address and surrounded it. The suspect was located and transported to the Clark County Jail.
8:39 p.m. To Bellows Dr. for a welfare check. A man reported that he dropped of his child at the child’s mother’s home and smelled the odor of marijuana as the child’s stepfather opened the door. A deputy went to the home and advised the step-father of the complaint. The step-father told the deputy to get a search warrant. The deputy could smell marijuana and said that he wasn’t going anywhere. The mother then came to the door and was advised that the deputy had to check on the children. The step-father then said that he had smoked a marijuana cigarette in the garage away from everyone and that the deputy was free to search and check the residence. The home was found to be clean and in order and the children appeared to be in good shape. The step-father was advised of the dangers of marijuana and that if it is found around the children he could be charged.

Monday 3/7

4:20 p.m. To Woodbury Rd. for a report of found property. A man reported finding an ammunition magazine. He said he found it on the ground near the main driveway. While looking in the area where the magazine was found, a needle was located. Both were collected and submitted to property.
5:41 p.m. To Sunrise Terrace for a report of phone harassment. A woman reported that she was recently the victim of a burglary and that the suspect’s mother has called her multiple times. She said that the woman was telling her how she should handle the case and what she should say and do in court. She said that the woman was pushy making statements such as “you will…” and “you had better…” She said that after the first conversation, she no longer felt comfortable and wanted to be left alone. The deputy called the woman and told her not to contact the RP. She said that she did not speak to the RP about the case and was only checking on how she was doing. She said that she is not to contact the RP and not to tell her what to say in court. The woman was upset that she was being accused of doing this and was not very cooperative.

Tuesday 3/8

9:38 p.m. To Scott St. for a report of a theft. A husband and wife reported that a stroller was stolen from their porch. They have no suspects, but advised that they have had issues with neighbors.
9:56 p.m. To Lammes Lane for a report of an assault. A woman reported that her daughter was assaulted at school today. She said that another student was upset that her daughter was talking to a boy that both girls liked. She said that as her daughter was leaving, the other student punched her in the head. She said that she immediately notified the school.

Wednesday 3/9

5:11 p.m. To N. Main St. for a report of an accident. A northbound vehicle was struck by a vehicle leaving a parking lot. The driver leaving the parking lot was charged with failure to yield.

Thursday 3/10

5:28 p.m. To Glenn Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that her sister was taken to the hospital on Feb 24. She said that she and other family members were going over the sister’s financial information to make sure bills were being paid. She said that she noticed withdrawls from the sister’s account from ATM machines in New Carlisle. She said that her sister does not drive. The bank checked their video and found a black female had withdrawn money from the account. The woman recognized the female as her sister’s home health care nurse. She said that she has cancelled the card and the agency has been notified.

Friday 3/11

11:35 a.m. To N. Main St. for a report of a theft. A store manager reported that a customer was seen putting merchandise into his jacket. He said the suspect left in a silver 4-door car and left south on Church St. He was described as bald on top with brown hair and a mustache and was approximately 5’ 10” tall. A copy of surveillance video was provided to the deputy.
4:16 p.m. To McAdams Dr. for a report of an intoxicated female in a store. The deputy arrived and found the woman with her son in a shopping cart. The deputy was familiar with the woman. Her eyes were bloodshot and she spoke with slurred speech. She asked if it was illegal to shop and she was advised that the deputy was just checking on her. She said that she had driven to the store with her son in the vehicle. As she was checking out, the clerk had to ask her four times for payment. Outside, several field sobriety tests were administered and she failed them. She said that she takes Suboxone and Xanax. She had a bag of Xanax bars that were not prescribed to her. After making arrangements for the child, the woman was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center for a blood test. She rescinded her consent for a blood test because she said she was going to pass out. She was cited with OVI, driving under a compact state violation, possession of drugs and child endangering. On the way to the jail, she spit on the deputy’s computer and said that it was an accident because she was crying.
7:13 p.m. While southbound on Rt. 235, a deputy clocked a vehicle at 71 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. He turned around to follow the vehicle and saw it swerve several times. He initiated a traffic stop south of Musselman Rd. The driver said he was swerving because “I’m just a nut sometimes.” The deputy could smell an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle and the driver said that he “drank a few.” He advised that he had marijuana in his pocket. He was unable to complete field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest for suspicion of OVI. While another deputy inventoried his vehicle, the driver joked about how “high” he was from smoking marijuana. He said that he had also had two double shots of vodka. He was transported to the Clark County Jail.
7:53 p.m. Traffic stop on I-70 at I-675. The driver was cited for possession of marijuana.
9:01 p.m. To Bookwalter Dr. for a report of criminal damaging. A man reported that he was traveling west on Styer Dr. He said that as he drove through the intersection of Cliffside Dr., a PT Cruiser passed him and someone threw a milkshake at his vehicle. He said that he turned around and followed the vehicle. The deputy contacted the owner who said she was returning from McDonald’s with two juvenile children but that neither of them had a milkshake. She said she was concerned that the man had followed her.
10:22 p.m. To W. National Rd. for a report of suspicious activity. An anonymous caller reported seeing flashlights in the cemetery. The deputy saw a vehicle leaving. He initiated a traffic stop and the driver said that she was checking to make sure the solar lights she had placed on her boyfriend’s grave were working. She was found to have an expired license. She was advised that she would not be cited since they were on private property but that she could not drive the vehicle on the public streets. She switched places with her passenger, a valid driver.

Saturday 3/12

1:27 a.m. To Orth Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she and her husband were arguing, but that the argument did not turn physical. The husband had left before deputies arrived. While speaking with the deputy, the husband called stating that he was at Speedway and was not coming home. The woman was advised not to talk to her husband while he is intoxicated.
3:01 p.m. To Winchester St. for a report of a dispute. A woman reported that she was tired of her son living for free in her home and wanted him out. The son advised that he has not helped with family expenses for a year because he is unemployed. The son left without incident. He was advised to call for a peace officer when he was able to pick up his belongings.
5:30 p.m. To S. Medway Carlisle Rd. for a report of found property. A man reported finding five debit cards on the side of the road in front of his residence. The cards, issued to two different subjects, were submitted to property. The deputy tried to contact the credit card companies but they were closed for the weekend.
6:22 p.m. To Caldwell Circle for a report of a possible fight. A woman reported that she is in an ongoing custody battle with her son’s ex-wife. She said that today the family was in the back yard playing with the child when the mother jumped the fence and charged at her. She said the mother struck her several times, grabbed the child and placed her in her car. She said that she was concerned with the child leaving with the mother because of her previous actions toward her and the possibility that she might be on drugs. The mother finally returned the child and left. A neighbor related a similar story. The woman was transported to the hospital by Bethel Twp. Medics for her injuries. Warrants for assault were issued against the mother, Molly Knisley of Springfield.
11:55 p.m. To Jason Dr. for a report of loud yelling coming from the home. A man reported that his wife and her parents were involved in an argument earlier. She said that they had gone out for a few drinks and that his wife and her step-father began to verbally argue. He said he asked them to leave when the arguing started. The wife related a similar story and added that the argument did not become physical.
