Sunday 3/20

3:15 p.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. A woman reported that her vehicle was stolen. She said she had spoken with a deputy earlier in the day and he determined that the vehicle was not stolen. She said she had picked up a male friend at 2:00 a.m. and went back to her home and she went to sleep. She said she didn’t remember if she gave him permission to use the vehicle or not. She said that the man texted her to say that her vehicle had been crashed, and she has not heard from him since. At about 2:00 p.m., she found her vehicle in the parking lot of her apartment complex. There was substantial damage to it. She said that the crash could have happened at Rt. 235 and Dille Rd. She was advised to contact her insurance company.
7:07 p.m. To W. Lake Ave. for a report of a found item. A man reported that when he returned home, he found a small blue pill on his living room floor. He said that it was not his. The pill was submitted into evidence.
8:31 p.m. To White Pine St. for a report of a domestic dispute. Dispatch advised that a resident had an outstanding warrant. A woman reported that her son came to the home intoxicated and wanted to argue with his father. She said that it was only verbal, not physical. She said that when she said she was calling the cops, the son left. They were advised that the son had an outstanding warrant. As the deputy was leaving, he saw two young men walking toward the home and walked to the front door. He went back to the residence to see if either of them was the son and he was advised that only one person came in but soon left. Consent to search the home was given but the son was not found. The deputy advised the couple that they could be charged if they were hiding the son. The husband told the deputy to “stop being a smartass.” The deputy responded that he was only informing them what could happen. The husband then told deputies to leave the home and that they weren’t needed any more.
9:02 p.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that he went into Speedway and left his engine running. He said that when he returned, about three minutes later, his vehicle was gone. Surveillance video was reviewed and it showed a male subject wearing a black toboggan, light gray sweat pants and a dark gray sweatshirt get into the vehicle and leave.
10:18 p.m. To Lower Valley Pike for a report of a domestic dispute. While enroute, the deputy was informed that the RP had left for her home in Crystal Lakes. She said that her father, who was intoxicated, called her and asked for a ride. She said she picked him up, and he wanted to go to another bar for “one last drink.” She said he got into a verbal argument with another bar patron and she escorted him out to prevent further problems. In the parking lot, the father refused to get in her car and started punching and kicking her vehicle. He then started running across Lower Valley Pike into yards. He was located on Winding Way and was taken to his daughter’s home. He was extremely intoxicated and denied damaging his daughter’s vehicle. She did not wish to press charges.
10:53 p.m. To Gerlaugh Rd. for a report of an unwanted guest. A man reported that his child’s mother refused to give him his children. He said that his paperwork was at home so the deputy followed him home. The mother was called and she stated that he was late picking up the children and was being rude to her. She asked for a peace officer from now on. The man was advised to call a deputy before the exchange.

Monday 3/21

8:00 a.m. A N. Tecumseh Rd. called to report that while she was in the parking lot at Tecumseh Middle School, her rear window shattered. There was no evidence of criminal activity.
10:01 a.m. To Stratmore St. A man reported that he believed that his tenants had moved out so he entered the home. Sometime afterward, the tenant called and asked why he entered the home without permission. The deputy called the tenant and she said that they had not completed their move, and that she had told the landlord that she would be out by the end of the month. The landlord said the furnace was not working and he went to check on it. He was advised to honor the lease agreement and get permission before entering.
11:36 a.m. To Brubaker Dr. for a report of a burglary. A woman reported hearing someone in the attic above her apartment. Deputies checked and found that the access hole was open. She said that she suspects a man who often stays with her sister across the hall. She said that they share the same attic. Attempts to reach the sister were unsuccessful.
12:16 p.m. To N. Clay St. for a report of breaking and entering. A man reported that he was just released from the hospital and found that his storage shed had been entered and several tools were missing. He said that he might have left it unlocked since there was no forced entry.
3:10 p.m. To Fenwick Dr. for a report of a neighbor dispute. A man reported that a man across the street threatened him by saying, “I’ll shoot you,” then flashed a handgun through the window. He said that there are ongoing verbal disputes with the man. The neighbor stated that he did not threaten the RP and that he does not own a gun. Both parties related conflicting stories.
4:22 p.m. To Gerlaugh Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that he and his wife were involved in an argument and that she struck him in the face with her fist, then left. He said he did not wish to press charges. Deputies met the wife at the Medway Church and she said that her husband is getting more aggressive during verbal disputes. She said he tried to take her wedding ring off and grabbed her throat as if trying to choke her. Neither party wished to press charges.
6:07 p.m. To Fair Ave. for a report of a lawn being burnt. A woman reported that she returned home and found that her lawn had been burnt. A neighbor said he looked out his window and saw that her lawn was on fire. He grabbed a garden hose and put out the fire. It is unknown who started the fire.
7:27 p.m. To Dallas Dr. for a report of an unwanted guest. A woman reported that a man who has been banned from the premises was there. The deputy arrived to find the man was someone with whom he was familiar. He said that he was there to move a trailer. He showed a paper from the park’s attorney informing him that he had 14 days to move the trailer. He was advised to have it moved by the end of the day.

Tuesday 3/22

1:15 a.m. To W. Jefferson St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. The deputy arrived to find a woman on the front porch screaming at someone in the residence to let her in. Her right hand was bloody and she was all scratched up. The deputy called for a squad to check her out and she said “I am not going to the hospital.” She said that three people came into her room while she was sleeping and beat her up. She was highly intoxicated and was crying. Deputies knocked at the door but no one would answer. The woman finally climbed through a window, then let deputies in. The people who she claimed beat her up were not in the residence.
8:30 a.m. To the 600 block of S. Main St. for a report of an accident. In making a turn from Hillcrest onto S. Main St., a driver ran over a flower bed and knocked down a stop sign, then fled the scene.
5:09 p.m. To Drake Ave. for a report of threats being made. A woman reported that her son was walking to school today and a neighbor’s son, who was also walking to school, made some rude comments to her son, so her son made a rude comment to the neighbor’s son. She said the neighbor’s son told her son that if he made any more comments, he would knock his feet out from under him. Deputies contacted the neighbor, the boy’s mother said that she was unaware of any comments, but said that there have been incidents of bullying in the past. The RP said she did not wish to press charges, but wanted the bullying to stop.
9:34 p.m. To Styer Dr. for a report of a theft. A man reported that his cell phone was missing. He was unsure if he lost it or if it was stolen. He said he has notified the provider and they requested a police report.

Wednesday 3/23

11:17 a.m. A woman called to report that while she was exiting onto Route 4 from S.R. 369, a black Crown Vic pulled up next to her as if trying to run her off the road. She said the male driver then pulled in front of her and straddled the lanes slowing down, then took off at a high rate of speed. She said she again came in contact with the subject vehicle on I-70 and it was continuing to drive erratically. She was unable to get a license number.
7:06 p.m. To Brubaker Dr. for a report of a burglary. A woman reported that she returned home to find things out of place and a note on her couch. She said that she left until deputies arrived, and that this is the second time her apartment has been burglarized. She said the suspect gained entry through an attic shared with another apartment. She said that a tablet was missing from under her dresser. She said that two friends were the only people who knew where the tablet was located.
8:04 p.m. To W. Lake Ave. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she and her boyfriend were involved in a physical fight. She said he pushed her to the ground and hit her in the chest causing injury. She said she fears for her life because he has threatened to kill her. The boyfriend said he had asked the woman for cigarettes. He said she gave him some but then wanted them back. He said a verbal argument ensued. Both had been drinking earlier in the day. The boyfriend was arrested and charged with one count of domestic violence and one count of assault and booked into the Clark County Jail.
8:43 p.m. To Klose Ave. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that her family was arguing over how her daughter and son-in-law live. She said that she became upset over the couple’s children not picking up their items. She said that as she and her daughter were working out the details, her son, who appeared to be intoxicated, arrived and added his input. She said she asked him to leave several times, but he refused to do so. The son said that his mother pulled his niece’s hair after she failed to complete her chores. The daughter and son-in-law said that they would stay with her brother for the night.
9:30 p.m. To Brubaker Dr. for a report of an accident. A pizza driver’s vehicle rolled backward in the parking lot striking another vehicle causing damage. The pizza driver returned to his vehicle and left without attempting to contact the owner of the struck vehicle.
11:25 p.m. To N. Church St. for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The RP said it had been parked there for about a week. The vehicle was located parked next to the wall of the Church of the Brethren. There was no front plate and the left mirror was missing. The plate came back to a Ford Truck which expired in 2011. He checked the VIN and found that the vehicle was reported stolen by Huber Heights Police. They were contacted and advised that they would have the vehicle towed.

Thursday 3/24

2:39 p.m. To Rawson Dr. A man reported that his daughter took his grandchild from the home after Children’s Services told her that the child was to stay with the grandfather. Children’s Services was contacted and reported that the woman was told that the child must stay with the grandfather until their meeting the next day. The mother reportedly became upset when told this and started screaming. The child was returned to the grandfather.
3:32 p.m. To Galewood Dr. for a report of an accident. A driver was turning into her driveway and was struck by another driver who had lost control. The second driver was cited for failure to control.
4:06 p.m. To Grissom Ave. A woman reported that four individuals were posting personal comments about her on Facebook and making degrading comments about certain people in Park Layne. She said that she has received phone calls and Facebook messages stating that she was a bad person and that her business was not a good place because it was in the media for an ongoing investigation. She requested that the incidents be documented in case they escalate further.

Friday 3/25

7:35 a.m. A woman flagged a deputy down at Ritchie’s Sunoco. She said that she left her boyfriend’s home because his ex-girlfriend showed up and assaulted her and took her phone. The deputy took her to the boyfriend’s home, but no phone was found. There were no witnesses to the assault, so charges could not be filed.
4:21 p.m. A woman called to report that she lost her purse at the Park Layne Family Dollar store. She said that the purse contained her state ID and some cash. She was advised to contact the BMV and notify them that the card was lost.
9:15 p.m. A driver called to report that they were following an intoxicated driver. The caller said they were northbound on Enon Rd., then westbound on National Rd. The deputy located the vehicle and tried to initiate a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle continued at 35 MPH. The deputy activated his siren and the vehicle continued. It finally stop just west of Tecumseh Rd. The driver said he was on his way home to Fairborn from Cincinnati and was not sure where he was. He did not appear to be intoxicated. Fairborn Police were contacted, and they said that the driver was reported as missing. The driver’s daughter soon arrived on scene to take him home.

Saturday 3/26

1:48 p.m. A deputy was following a vehicle on Lake Rd. and it sped up. It turned onto Grove Rd. at a high rate of speed, then turned into a driveway on Lakeshore. The driver exited the vehicle and fled, ignoring the deputy’s commands to stop. The deputy learned that the driver had an outstanding warrant for misuse of a credit card. He requested a warrant for failure to comply, obstructing official business and obstructing justice.
9:04 p.m. To Tecumseh Rd. for a report of a scam. A man reported that he was contacted on Facebook by a woman who wanted to chat with him. The chat soon took a sexual nature. She convinced him to expose himself to her on Skype. Once the video was completed, she advised him that if he did not send her $5000, she would post the video to his social media. He said that he did not have the money, and that the video went viral with the comment that he had exposed himself to an 8-year-old. He asked that the incident be documented.

Wednesday 3/23

3:62 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of Studebaker Road and South State Route 202, Vehicle was stopped for a speeding violation. Contact was made with the driver Leanna Renaee Hockett and the reason for the stop was explained. Running Hockett’s information through LEADS it was discovered she had an active warrant out of Huber Heights. Hockett was asked to step out of her vehicle and informed of the active warrant. She was cited for the speed violation, arrested for the active warrant and transported to the county line where Hockett was handed over to the Huber Heights Police.
7:50 p.m. Traffic stop in the 6900 block of South State Route 202. Vehicle was stopped for a speeding violation. Contact was made with the three occupants and the driver was identified as Frank Lane III. Checking the driver’s information through LEADS, Lane’s driver’s license was under a failure to reinstate suspension. Lane was cited for driving under a suspension and speed violation. A valid driver removed the vehicle from the scene.
8:16 p.m. Suspicious complaint in the 6000 block of Agenbroad Road. RP reported when she arrived home from work a bag of her son’s clothes was found on the front porch. The clothing had been doused in gasoline and burned. Deputy attempted contact with the person the RP felt might have done this. This person was informed she was not to return to the RP’s property or she could face trespassing charges.

Friday 3/25

5:56 p.m. Accident with no injury in the area of US Route 40 and South State Route 202.

Monday 3/28

4:11 p.m. telecommunication harassment in the 5700 block of East State Route 571. RP had previously filed a complaint and was instructed not to have contact with the female who was harassing her. On this date the female had made contact with her again. The RP was advised to block that phone number. Deputy attempted to contact with female with negative results. A voicemail was left asking her to call the deputy.

Tuesday 3/29

9:33 p.m. Traffic stop in the 5000 block of US Route 40. Contact was made with the driver Cori Scholz and it was explained that speeding was the reason for the stop. An odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from her person and she admitted to have a couple of drinks. Scholz was asked and agreed to a series of standardized field sobriety tests. Based on the results, it was determined Scholz was driving under impairment. Scholz was transported to the TCPD where she agreed to a breath testing which yielded 0.113% BAC. Scholz was cited for the speed violation and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Scholz was released to a sober person.
10:21 p.m. Welfare check in the 8100 block of Flick Road. RP was concerned with negative thoughts a male juvenile was having. This evening the juvenile had expressed a desire to harm himself and another family member. The juvenile was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

Thursday 3/31

10:06 p.m. Disturbance reported in the 6800 block of US Route 40. Male and female having a verbal argument. They agreed to stay in separate areas of the house for the remainder of the night.
