Sunday 7/3

2:55 p.m. To Plumwood Dr. for a report of a burglary. A woman reported that she went to her son’s home around 10:00 this morning and saw damage the rear door of his residence. The granddaughter, who lives there, said that when she came home, she tried to enter the back door, but found it locked. She said that door is never locked, and the only way to lock it is from the inside. She said she crawled through a front window, and when she got to the back door, it was unlocked. She believes that someone was in the residence, and the suspect left when she was coming in through the front window. She said that nothing appeared to be missing or out of place.

5:50 p.m. To Frayne Dr. for a report of a custody dispute. A man reported that the court has ordered that his daughter be returned home from visitation with her mother. He said that today he waited 30 minutes before contacting the mother about returning the child, and they got into a custody argument. The mother stated that the court order says that if a holiday was to interfere with her allotted visitation time, then it would not interrupt the weekend visitation time. Both parties were advised that the custody dispute is a civil matter, and they were referred to the courts to clear up any misunderstanding.

Monday 7/4

8:59 a.m. To Frayne Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that a friend picked her up yesterday, and that she put her keys on the floorboard of his vehicle. She said that when she returned home, she realized that she left her keys in his vehicle and she called him. She reported that the friend said he did not have the keys. The deputy reported that he believed that there was more to the story, but that she would not give any more information.

11:54 a.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a theft. A store employee reported that a man stuck merchandise in his pants and left with three other male subjects in a blue SUV. The plate number provided came back to a Dodge truck from Toledo. Store surveillance showed the suspect to be in his mid to late 40’s with short gray hair and facial hair. He was wearing jeans, a blue shirt and athletic shoes.

1:48 p.m. To Smith St. A man reported that he had recently moved out of his home. He said that he received a text message from his wife asking him to come over because she missed him. He could not find the text message to show the deputy. He said that they had a small argument that became quite loud. The wife reported the same thing. She said she wants him to stop coming over. The husband was advised to leave the residence for the night.

4:14 p.m. To Funston Ave. for a report of phone fraud. A woman reported that a man had started a GoFundMe account for her 12-year-old daughter who had lost property in a fire. She said she contacted the man who said that he was not going to surrender the funds to her She said that after she talked to a deputy, she called the man and told him. She said that he would cancel the account and send her the funds. She said he contacted later and said he was starting another account because the one he started was not getting any money. She said that he is still contacting her, and she wants to be left alone.

Tuesday 7/5

1:25 a.m. A man called to report that he and his girlfriend were at the CVS parking lot for a custody exchange of the girlfriend’s children to her ex-husband. He said that she has a protection order against him, but custody exchanges are allowed. He said that the husband became loud and started yelling at them. He said the husband snatched the youngest child from him making the child cry. He said the husband put the children in his vehicle and continued to yell at them as he left. He said that there are numerous reports on file from his behavior at custody exchanges. He did not wish to press charges, fearing it would make matters worse. On July 6, the RP called saying that he tried to get a copy of surveillance video from CVS, but was told that a deputy had to request it. He was advised that since he didn’t want to press charges, no video would be requested. He then said that he wanted to press charges, and he was advised that since he refused once, he would have to go through the Prosecutor’s office.

2:48 a.m. A deputy saw a green Chevy Astro van parked in the northbound lane of Osborn Rd, apparently disabled. An orange trailer was attached, and it had no plates. A black utility trailer was on the orange trailer. Soon a man approached the scene. The deputy asked if he was driving the Astro van, and the man said that a friend was driving it. He said that the friend was walking to get gas for the van. The man was clear of warrants, but his license had been suspended. Soon the man’s family members arrived with gas for the van and a valid driver to remove it from the scene. The deputy expressed concern about the orange trailer’s condition. Its tires were damaged, and it seemed unfit for operation. Soon, dispatch advised that the subject was not supposed to have the black utility trailer, according to the owner. The owner of the trailer soon arrived with his registration paperwork. He identified the black trailer as his, and said the orange trailer belonged to a friend. The friend was contacted and said that both trailers were supposed to be at a store & lock in Vandalia. Both had filed stolen reports with Vandalia Police. Vandalia Police suggested that charges of receiving stolen property be filed against the subject. The subject was arrested and taken to the Clark County Jail. The two trailer owners retrieved their property.

4:27 p.m. To S. Main St. for a report of menacing. A man reported that two females who received poor work performances from him walked out and never returned. He said that they are now slandering him and his business on Facebook. He said that he fears that they might come to the business and create a scene and he wanted them trespassed.

7:27 p.m. To Glenapple Dr. for a report of a theft. A man reported that a .45 cal. gun was no longer at his residence. He said the last time he saw it was a couple of days ago. He said he allowed a friend to stay at his residence around that time. The man called back later to state that he found the gun was found in a bucket in his garage.

Wednesday 7/6

7:52 a.m. To Plumwood Dr. for a report of a theft. A man reported that a tool box was stolen from his vehicle. He said that the vehicle was unlocked and suffered no damage.

12:28 p.m. To Rawson Dr. A woman reported that her son told her that he was going to move her vehicle so he could mow the lawn, and she told him that he was not allowed to drive it. She said she looked outside and her vehicle was gone. She said she texted her son, and he said that she had told him he could go get cigarettes. She was advised that there is not enough evidence to charge him since she has allowed him to use the vehicle in the past and since they live together.

12:49 p.m. To McAdams Dr. for a report of a theft. A store employee reported that a woman was trying to exchange money and confuse the clerk. He said that at one point, the woman reached over the counter and grabbed money from the cash register. He said that about $300 was taken.

4:06 p.m. A Sigler Rd. resident called to report that her soon-to-be-ex-husband followed her to her workplace and took pictures of her. She asked that the incident be documented so that she can get a protection order.

4:21 p.m. To W. Main St., Medway, for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she was involved in a verbal argument with her boyfriend at their home on Woodbury Rd. She said that he kicked her out of the apartment and would not allow her to get her belongings. She said that she pays all of the bills, but her name is not on the lease. She said that the boyfriend admitted to taking $120 from her. She returned to her apartment with the deputy, and the boyfriend allowed her to get her belongings. He was asked about the $120, and said that he took it for rent and had no problem giving it back.

7:48 p.m. To Coachhill Ln. for a report of a burglary. A woman reported that she arrived home to find several doors open throughout her residence. She said that several of her son’s toys were missing and his bedroom window was open. While investigating, a male juvenile approached the deputy and admitted to entering the residence and “borrowing” the toys. The toys were returned and no charges were filed.

9:40 p.m. To Kennedy Dr. for a report of a wreckless driver. A man reported that a man in a gray truck was doing donuts and driving fast in the complex. He asked for an extra patrol.

Thursday 7/7

12:19 a.m. To E. Main St., Donnelsville, for a report of a lost handgun. A man reported that he was riding his motorcycle today and lost his Ruger LCP .380 from his holster. He said that he believes he lost it when he crossed a bridge on Rt. 68 just south of Urbana Rd. Deputies searched the area but could not locate the handgun.

1:18 p.m. To Forest Rd. A man reported that a neighbor entered the home and began looking through the cabinets for medication. The neighbor said that she had a toothache and needed relief. He said he contacted the homeowner who said that he wanted to file charges against the neighbor. The homeowner’s wife asked that charges not be filed because the neighbor is her cousin, and they have been having family issues. She asked that the neighbor be trespassed from her home until the issues are worked out.

6:11 p.m. To Spinning Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that her son came into the home, was upset and was yelling and knocking things over. The son said he came home and asked his mother for money. He said that when she refused, he got upset and knocked over a fan in the hallway. He said he does struggle with marijuana and uses pills. The woman said that she wanted her son to leave the residence, and he did so without incident.

6:15 p.m. To Stratmore St. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that her debit card was used in Thailand, and the charge was nearly $500. She said that her bank has requested a police report.

8:43 p.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a welfare check. A woman said that she was on the phone with her daughter when she heard a man yelling and stating that he was going to “put her through the wall.” The daughter said her boyfriend became agitated when she asked him where her bank card was. She said that he took her phone so that she could not call for help. She said that she was able to get out of the house with their child, and when she went back in to get her belongings, the boyfriend told her that he was going to damage all of her belongings and set the apartment on fire. She also said that he kicked her in her knee, leaving a red mark. The boyfriend was charged with domestic violence, assault and theft.

10:55 p.m. To W. National Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman said that she was arguing with her boyfriend over her being out late with the kids. She said that they have been arguing about this all morning. The boyfriend left the residence.

Friday 7/8

7:12 a.m. To Quick Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that he went to pick up his trailer that was parked beside a building, and found that it was gone.

1:11 p.m. To N. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of vandalism. A man reported that some time overnight, someone tried to break into a vending machine. He said that they did not gain entry and nothing was taken, but the machine was damaged.

3:58 p.m. To John Ave. for a report of a burglary. A woman reported that someone had entered her home. She said that a rear entrance had damage and pry marks on the door. She said several items were taken and that she would be able to provide serial numbers. There are no suspects.

Saturday 7/9

12:15 p.m. Civil dispute in the 6100 block of S. State Route 201. RP stated his ex-wife’s boyfriend was dropping off some of his marital items which had been determined by the courts during the divorce. RP said the boyfriend got in his face and was yelling at him. The RP couldn’t recall exactly what was said. After all of the items were removed from the truck the boyfriend left. No threat of violence was made and it was an arranged time by both parties. RP wanted the incident documented.

12:45 p.m. Theft not in progress in the 5200 block of US Route 40. Female advised her vehicle had been stolen, possibly by her landlord. After speaking with all involved parties, reviewing a recent civil matter between them, it was determined the vehicle had not been stolen. The vehicle had been moved to a different location on the property for storage while civil proceedings took place. Female was advised to contact her attorney for additional issued involving the vehicle.

4:29 p.m. Assist citizen in the area of Palmer and Bellefontaine Roads. RP advised that relatives’ headstones were being sold at an auction in Medway. RP stated the headstones had been stolen from the cemetery at 9956 Bellefontaine Road. At this time there is not enough evidence to say the headstones had been stolen.

9:24 p.m. Disturbance reported in the 6700 block of US Route 40. Male and female stopped in the RP’s residence to pick up personal property. An argument ensued but male and female left before deputies could respond. The male, Derek Douglas Humbert, was located and found to have an arrest warrant out of Greene County. Warrant was confirmed and Humbert was arrested and incarcerated at the Miami County Incarceration Facility. Deputies were unable to located the female who also had an arrest warrant. RP decided not to press criminal charges against them.

Sunday 7/10

4:37 a.m. Warrant arrest in the 4100 block of Rudy Road. Deputies responded to a residence searching for Danielle Elliot who had a warrant out of Miami Country. The property owner stated Elliot was not supposed to be at the residence and gave deputies permission to search the property. A male was located standing at the back door and stated he was the only person at the residence. The male was secured in the back of a cruiser and the deputies continued searching for Elliot. She was located in a bedroom “sleeping” on the floor. Elliot was transported to the Miami County Jail but due to the overcrowding she could not be incarcerated. She was issued a summons to appear in court.

Monday 7/11

10:52 a.m. Fraud reported in the 9200 block of S. State Route 201. An unknown person(s) had created a Sprint account in this business’s name on July 1. Six phone were ordered through Sprint’s website. The devices were picked up at two different stores. The RP had been in contact with Sprint and the cell phone plan had been cancelled. The RP was also instructed to contact the law enforcement agencies in which the Sprint stores were located. A report would need to be filed with them since the phone were picked up from those locations.

Wednesday 7/13

3:32 p.m. Criminal damages in the 4220 block of US Route 40. RP reported her tires had been slashed around 7:00 a.m. Two females and two males had come to her residence and yelled for her to come outside. The RP refused because she feared for her safety. She observed a female slashing her tires. She ran to grab her phone to document the incident and the vehicle drove away. The RP was able to produce a photo of a new SUV, possibly a Jeep Cherokee. The RP was also able to show the deputy text messages from a female that threatened her. The prosecutor was contacted and he thought charges were acceptable. The deputy attempted to contact the female from the number provided by the RP. A message was left for her to contact the deputy in reference to the incident. She was also advised she was being charged with criminal damaging.

4:57 p.m. To Prentice Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A 14-year-old girl reported that her grandfather pushed her to the ground and held her down. She said that when she was able to get up, she punched him in the face to prevent him from hurting her further. The grandfather said that the girl punched him in the face and then he pushed her down. Both parties agreed that the argument was over the girl’s music being too loud. Allegedly, the grandfather told her to turn it down, and when she refused, he pulled the plug. She apparently went into his room and unplugged his TV. The girl’s parents soon arrived and said that the grandfather talked to them on the phone and said he pushed her before she hit him, and that she struck him in self defense. They asked that the grandfather be advised not to discipline their children. He was so advised.

6:36 p.m. To Orth Dr. for a report of vandalism. A man reported that someone broke out a window in his vehicle. He said he has no known enemies and doesn’t know who would have done this. Neighbors said that they did not see or hear anything.

Saturday 7/9

12:41 a.m. To Weinland St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. Several area residents reported seeing a man and a woman walking down the street arguing. One reported hearing the woman say “get off me” and “let me go.” Deputies were unable to find them.

2:15 a.m. To Troy Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that his girlfriend wanted him to leave the residence after an argument, but he did not want to leave. He said that she then called his parents to pick him up. When they arrived, he and his father got into a heated argument that never became physical. The girlfriend said that she was having a birthday party for a friend and that she wanted her boyfriend to leave because they had been having relationship issues and she did not want him to spoil the party. She said he would not leave, so she decided to call his parents before things got out of control. She was advised that since the boyfriend lives at the residence, deputies could not force him to leave. The boyfriend finally agreed to stay with his parents.

1:13 p.m. To Burket Dr. A woman reported that she was involved in an argument with her husband. She said he took her phone, they began to argue over it, and he threw it. She said that when she picked it up, he pushed her over with his foot. No charges were filed.

3:16 p.m. To Hartley Ave. for a report of a theft. A man reported that he was in the process of moving his family into the home. He said that his stepson let a friend hold onto his video game system until they were settled in. He said that the stepson went to get his games and found that the friend had sold them at a store. The store was contacted, said that the friend had sold games and that only one was left.
