Sunday 7/17

1:19 a.m. To Coachhill Ln. A man reported that he has been having problems with a female juvenile from the neighborhood. He said that in October, his vehicle was stolen and he suspects her. He said that a few months ago, someone broke into his home and took items and broke a TV. Two nights ago, a neighbor saw three juveniles, the suspect being one of them, messing around in the back of his home near the back door. Today he said he left around 4:00 p.m. and didn’t return until 11:00 p.m. He said that someone was in his home. He said the TV was on and someone smoked his cigarettes. A neighbor told him that the suspect juvenile was around his home again today, and that his hidden spare key had been moved. He said that no one saw anyone entering his home, but the suspect juvenile was the only one who knew where the key was hidden. He said he has spoken with her parents, but they don’t seem to have any control over her.

1:34 a.m. To Styer Dr. for a report of vandalism. A woman reported that around 1:20, she heard a loud pop and came out to see the glass in her front window had been broken. There was a small hole in the bottom left corner and appeared to have been struck by something. She said that her vehicle was parked in front of the window, so there was no way for anything to hit it. She said that there was a group of kids walking by when she came out of the house, but that they had nothing to do with the breakage. There are no suspects.

1:49 a.m. To Woodbury Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she came home and found her boyfriend with another woman. She said the boyfriend grabbed her by the hair, smacked her in the face twice and threw her to the ground. She was able to get out of the residence to call 911. Deputies went to the door, but no one answered. The woman opened the door so deputies could search for the boyfriend, but he was not in the home. Deputies learned that the boyfriend was convicted of Domestic Violence in Fairborn in 2012. A warrant was filed against the boyfriend for Domestic Violence and Assault.

3:56 a.m. To Linden St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she was involved in a verbal argument with her son over a laptop that she believed he had taken. She said that they were yelling back and forth, but it never turned physical. The son related a similar chain of events. As deputies were leaving, the son said that his mother found the laptop in her room. He said that she was in his room looking for the laptop and that he wanted to press charges of invasion of privacy against her. He was advised that since he was staying at his mother’s home and there was no contract for him to rent the room, the entire house was his mother’s and she was able to be in his room. He was not happy with the answer but went into the home. The woman refused to speak with the deputies about finding the laptop.

9:38 p.m. To Applewood Dr. for a report of a neighbor dispute. A man reported that neighbor children keep coming into his yard and kicking balls against his house. He said he put up a small fence and “no trespassing” signs to keep the children out. Neighbors said that the man has been using profanity around the children while telling them to stay off of his grass. The neighbors were advised that he just wants the kids off of his grass, and that if he uses more profanity around the children to let deputies know.

Monday 7/18

4:12 p.m. To Hartley Ave. for a report of a burglary. A woman reported that she is in the process of moving out. She said that when she came home yesterday her son and some of his friends were there. She said her son is in rehab for drug abuse. She said she asked everyone to leave and they did. She said that today she came home and found the son and friends sitting on a neighbor’s porch. She then found that her back door had been kicked in. She didn’t know if anything was taken.

4:45 p.m. To N. Main St. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that in early May, she let a family friend use her vehicle. She said that she was later informed that her vehicle had been found crashed and dropped off at a repair facility. She said that she registered the vehicle on July 15, then went to the facility today to get it and it was gone. An employee of the shop reported that when he came to work on July 12, he saw the vehicle was in his lot. He said it had been crashed, had a flat tire, had a screwdriver in the ignition and the driver’s window was broken out. He said that when he came to work today, the vehicle was gone. Surveillance video showed a whit truck pulling a flatbed trailer pull into a side street, then leave with the stolen vehicle on the trailer.

9:13 p.m. To Dallas Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she was trying to get her belongings, but the male subject was throwing them and saying that he was going to burn her clothes. The male half said he answered her phone and a male voice said “Hey, baby.” He said he told the caller that he was the woman’s fiancée, and the caller said that he was still waiting on his nude picture of her. He said he gave the phone to her. He said she then started arguing with him and picked up a hammer and threw it at him breaking a chandelier. He said she then took her clothes and left. He said there were no threats and no assault. The woman was located and said that she thought he was going to get mean with the kids and threatened to burn her clothes. She also said that he made a comment about putting a bullet in her head. She refused to cooperate and would not sign a statement.

Tuesday 7/19

5:59 a.m. To Woodbury Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that sometime during the evening before, someone took her vehicle without permission. She said that when she called to report it missing, dispatch advised her that it had been located in Fairborn. She was given a report number so that she could pick up her vehicle from Fairborn Police. There are no suspects.

4:14 p.m. To Enon Rd. and Rt. 4 for a report of a firearm in the road. The deputy took it and submitted it to property. The registered owner was located and informed that his firearm was found and that he could pick it up.

Wednesday 7/20

7:38 a.m. To N. Main St. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that her roommate stole her medication, and that she kicked the roommate out when she discovered the theft. She said she confronted her roommate about the theft and the roommate replied “whatever.” She said that she does not know where the roommate is staying now.

11:56 a.m. To N. Scott St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. Dispatch reported an anonymous caller stating that they could hear a child screaming “don’t hurt my mommy.” Upon arrival, a woman said that she was arguing with her boyfriend over his wanting to take their child with him. She said it never got physical, and he left before deputies arrived.

2:17 p.m. A W. National Rd. resident called concerning messages he has received on Facebook. He said he does not know the man who sent the messages, but believes that he is his ex-wife’s new boyfriend. He said that one message read, “I heard you were asking about me, I will find you and let you know about me and beat it into you.” He said he took screenshots of the messages and texted them to his ex-wife, and the messages stopped. He asked that the incident be documented.

2:30 p.m. To W. National Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that while she was at a business, someone removed the glass sunroof from her new 2016 vehicle. She said that she parked next to a blue van that had a white male inside.

9:32 p.m. To Daleridge Ave. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she came home and her ex-husband was on the back porch. She said he wanted to talk and she advised him that they have nothing to talk about. She texted a friend since she is afraid of her ex and the friend soon arrived. As she went to the friend’s vehicle, she said her ex said “you’re not going anywhere. I’ll kill you.” She said that they immediately left and went to the friend’s home. A warrant will be issued against the ex-husband for Domestic Violence and Aggravated Menacing.

Thursday 7/21

12:34 a.m. To Stratmore St. for a report of vandalism. A woman reported that yesterday someone spray painted “Buy meth here, ask for D” on her house. She said that she and her boyfriend immediately went out and bought paint to hide the graffiti. The previous evening, a man called advising that he found a can of spray paint in front of his home on Corvette Ave. He said that he had heard that a house down the street had been vandalized and thought the can that he found might have been used. The deputy was not able to tell if the found spray can was used since the graffiti had been painted over.

10:35 a.m. To W. Jefferson St. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone stole scrap metal and ropes from her property. She said that she had four metal shelves, two weight lifting parts and two ropes against a building. She said she saw an older tan truck pull away when she returned home. She said the owner of the truck is a scrapper. She said she just wants the ropes returned. The owner of the truck was contacted and advised that he cannot take scrap metal when he is not given permission to do so. He gave the ropes to the deputy. The RP did not wish to press charges.

5:16 p.m. To W. National Rd. for a report of a custody dispute. A man reported that he had court paperwork giving him authority to take his children for visitation. The deputy followed him to their location, but no one answered the door. Dispatch called but could not get an answer. At 7:00 p.m., the mother was contacted and said that their hearing is not until August 9. The deputy advised her that he saw paperwork dated today. She said that the kids are scared of the RP and would not be going with him.

Friday 7/22

2:26 a.m. To Caldwell Circle for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that he and his wife were at the bar drinking and his brother was babysitting. He said that he and his wife began fighting and she left. She said she later returned, picked him up and the two returned home. Once inside he said that she became hostile and began pushing him against the wall and bit his arm. He said that she then started breaking things, then left. The wife was at a neighbor’s home and was visibly upset and crying. The wife said that they were fighting at the bar so she went home. She said her brother-in-law asked where her husband was and she said she wanted to leave but he didn’t. The brother-in-law said he was taking the children to his home because of the fighting. She said she then went back to the bar and picked up her husband. She said that they were both upset that the children were not there and began arguing. She said that during the argument he pushed her, she pushed back and it became a shoving match. She said that he choked her against a wall and she slapped him to get him off of her. She said that he still would not let go so she bit his arm and he let her go. She said that she then went to a neighbor’s home for help. She said that while at the neighbor’s home, she could hear things breaking at her home. She had marks around her neck, but neither party wanted to press charges. Due to her statement and physical evidence, Matthew Smith was arrested for domestic violence and assault. The wife completed a written statement, Matthew did not.

9:16 a.m. To S. Tecumseh Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that someone took his Honda dirt bike from his carport. There were tire marks in the grass showing the suspects pushed the bike to a neighboring driveway. He suspects the neighbor.

10:36 a.m. To Spence Rd. for a report of phone harassment. A man reported that someone called him and threatened to kill him. He said the caller first asked if he was Chris and he said no. He said that the caller was going to kill him because he is black. The caller also said that he was with ISIS. There are no suspects.

10:51 p.m. To Galewood Dr. for a report of a found gun. A woman reported that her son was playing with a friend. She said they got into the attic space above the bathroom at the friend’s home and found a gun and took it to a neighbor’s home so someone could look at it. The residents arrived at the same time the deputy did, and they said that they do not own a gun, but it could be a pellet gun that they bought for their son. They all then went to the home that the boys went to, and the resident said that it was a pellet gun that looked like a real gun.

3:24 p.m. To Coachhill Ln. for a report of a burglary. A woman reported that someone entered her residence through a front window and took several items. She said that a male subject admitted in a text message that a female wanted him to break into the home. She signed a statement and photos were taken of the texts.

4:58 p.m. To Stratmore St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that his son has been living with him for several months since he does not have a job. He said that his son’s dog had attacked one of his cats, and he told his son that if it happened again, the dog would be hurt. He said that his son then got up and acted like he wanted to fight. He said he threw a bowl of food at his son to get him away from him, then slipped and fell on some water that was on the floor. He said that while he was down, his son started punching him in the side of his head. He said his son invited him outside to fight, and he grabbed his knife and the son left. The man’s sister said that she heard a scuffle and came into the living room to hear her nephew challenging his dad. Warrants will be issued against the son for one count of Domestic Violence and one count of Assault.

5:52 p.m. To Weinland St. for a report of vandalism. A man reported that earlier when his daughter was home alone, she heard a loud noise on the back porch. He said she texted him and he came home to find that someone had thrown a large potato and several eggs at his house. There are no suspects. He said that he has had his vehicle broken into twice recently. There are no suspects.

Saturday 7/23

5:17 p.m. To Brubaker Dr. for a report of a disturbance. A woman said that she and her husband were in an argument about money. She said that he was yelling and calling her names but did not make any threats of physical harm, nor was there any physical contact between the two. She said that she would be staying with family members for the night.

6:01 p.m. To W. Lake Ave. for a report of a burglary. A man reported that he was gone for several days and his father was to go to his home to feed his dog. He said that his father called and said that his back door was open. He also said that his keyboard was left on, which lead him to believe that his stepson had entered the home, but he has no evidence to prove it. He said that he is trying to get custody of his children and believes his wife and stepson are trying to hinder his attempts. He said nothing was missing.

Saturday 7/23

5:53 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of Rudy Rd and E. State Route 571. Deputy observed a red Nissan driving 67 mph (in a 55 mph zone) west bound on State Route 571 near Rudy Rd. A traffic stop was initiated and contact made with driver Charles N. Copeland. He was found to also be driving with a suspended license.

Sunday 7/24

8:35 a.m. Suspicious complaint in the area of Studebaker and Pisgah Roads. Dispatch advised Deputy that a white male was walking down the road and being followed by a female in a van. After further investigation, it was found that the male had just lost a friend, was upset and just out walking.

Monday 7/25

8:41 a.m. Traffic stop in the 7300 block of E. State Route 571. No further information available.

11:55 a.m. Found property in the 2500 block of Ross Road. While performing a park check at Charleston Falls, a citizen approached a deputy and turned over a wallet that was found. An address for the owner was located by the driver’s license inside and wallet was returned.

1:30 p.m. Civil dispute in the 6300 block of Studebaker Road.

5:04 p.m. Traffic stop for no break light in the area of Sullivan Rd and US Route 40. Traffic stop was initiated and contact made with driver Cale Pence. He said he didn’t have his license on his person and the deputy observed marijuana flakes on his pants. Pence denied having any more marijuana in the vehicle. All passengers were removed from the vehicle and they also denied having any marijuana in the vehicle. Deputy found a clear zip lock bag of marijuana behind the passenger front seat. Found inside of a book bag were several unused clear zip lock bags and three clear zip lock back with a small amount of marijuana inside. Cale Pence, Jordan Ferguson and Joseph McClulloch were charged with Trafficking and possession. The three males were transported to the Miami County Incarceration Facility. Two females were released to family members on scene.
