Sun 10/30

1:22 a.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of two children left unattended. The deputy met with a woman outside the apartment building, and she said that two minors approached her and asked if she knew where their dad was. She said she went upstairs to the boys’ apartment and could not find the father. The father soon arrived, and he said he went to the store and to his aunt’s home to pick up a dog. The neighbor said that she had the boys for 45 minutes. The father apologized to her and thanked her for taking care of the boys. The mother was contacted and came to pick up the boys. The father was charged with two counts of endangering children and taken to the Clark County Jail.

5:42 p.m. To Lincoln Rd. for a report of trespassing. A woman reported that someone entered her home and stole her dog. She said she had not yet contacted anyone from her family to see if they had the dog. The deputy saw that an interior door had the hinge pin removed. A few hours later she called back and said her cousin had the dog. She was unsure if she wanted to press charges.

Mon 10/31

4:00 p.m. To N. Main St. for a report of a private property accident. A woman came out of a store and noticed that someone had crashed into her vehicle. There are no suspects.

9:58 p.m. To Spinning Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that her mother came home from a bar and was intoxicated. She said her mother began screaming and yelling at her to get out of her house and charged at her while she was yelling, but never put her hands on her. The mother said that she was sick and tired of her daughter living at her house and taking advantage of her. She said she wants her daughter to move out. She said that she would stay away from her daughter tonight, but would kick her out tomorrow.

Tues 11/1

10:40 a.m. To Liberty Rd. for a report of phone harassment. A man reported that he has been receiving threatening text messages and phone calls from a male subject. He said that his brother was involved in a domestic situation with the subject’s wife yesterday and now, for an unknown reason, the subject is threatening to shoot and assault him. The subject was contacted and said that the RP had threatened him first. He agreed to stop calling and texting.

11:28 a.m. To W. Union Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that there were over $1100 in charges made to his credit card in several different states. He said that he has contacted his provider and cancelled the card. He asked for a report for the provider.

12:10 p.m. To N. Church St. for a report of a burglary. A man reported that someone entered his attached back porch and removed fishing equipment. He said that none of them have any serial numbers or distinctive markings.

Wed 11/2

5:11 a.m. To Revere Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that he and his brother were arguing over who would use the vehicle for the day. He said that he needed the vehicle to go to work, and the brother wanted to go to Cincinnati to take care of personal business. The vehicle was owned by their mother who said that the brother could use the vehicle as long as he was back in time for the RP to use it for work. There were no threats or acts of violence by either party.

11:38 a.m. To Oak Rd. for a report of a missing person. A woman reported that she and her mother-in-law were talking about how the mother-in-law has been living free at her home. She said the mother-in-law became upset and left on foot. She said that she may be going to her son’s home in Vandalia. Huber and Vandalia police were notified to watch for the woman.

Thurs 11/3

5:18 a.m. To N. Main St. for a report of a man sleeping outside the store and would not wake up. The deputy arrived to find the man breathing but would not wake up. Medics arrived and assisted in waking the man up. They advised that he was fine. The man said that he lives in Mississippi and has been trying to get back home. He was found to have a warrant from Mississippi, but they would not make pickup because of the distance. In his back pack the deputy found marijuana and a glass pipe. The man admitted to smoking crystal meth in the pipe. He was charged with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia and ordered into court. He was also advised to call for a ride and not to sleep outside the store.

8:22 a.m. To Slayton St. for a report of phone harassment. A woman reported that her mother received a text from her ex sister-in-law threating her with bodily harm. She wanted the incident documented to help obtain a protection order.

5:31 p.m. To Kennedy Dr. for a report of chickens being attacked by a pit bull. A woman reported that she heard chickens making noise, went across the street and saw a pit bull trying to get into the coop. She said after a few minutes, the noise stopped and she found that the dog had killed all of the chickens. The deputy went to the home of the owner of the chickens, and she said that 6 hens and one rooster were killed.

6:28 p.m. To Klose Ave. to serve a protection order. The recipient was very argumentative and insisted that the deputy take him to jail. He was advised that he has a court date to contest the order. The recipient said that his children’s mother lives a lifestyle that he does not agree with. He said that she would be drinking at a bar. Dispatch called her phone and heard loud music in the background and a man answered. When the dispatcher asked for the mother, the call was disconnected. A few hours later, the deputy was dispatched back to the Klose Ave. address for a report of the mother driving past the home and acting erratic. The caller believed her to be intoxicated. The deputy went to the mother’s home and she did not show any signs of intoxication. She was advised that her children are with their aunt. She said that the family is in turmoil and she does not want them staying with the aunt. Attempts to reach the aunt were unsuccessful. The recipient’s mother was contacted to try to get the aunt’s address and she was uncooperative. She finally said she did not know the address, but could only find it by landmarks. The aunt soon showed up at the woman’s home to return the children.

6:34 p.m. To Tulip Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that a tablet was taken from her vehicle. She said that she went to the hospital the day before and a female friend was with her. She said that when she returned home and went to get the tablet, it was missing. She suspects the friend.

9:58 p.m. To Slayton St. for a report of an assault. A woman reported that she went to her ex-boyfriend’s home to pick up some things and he hit her in the face. Deputies went to his home but he was not there. His mother refused to cooperate in any way. While on scene, deputies found a wanted suspect was in the home. He was taken into custody on the warrant and transported to the Clark County Jail.

Friday 11/4

11:58 a.m. A man reported that he was driving his girlfriend’s vehicle to talk to see a friend who lived on Woodbury Rd. and who owed him money. He said that as he was leaving the apartments, an unknown person struck him over the head and knocked him out. He said the last thing he remembered was opening the car door, then he woke up in the emergency room. He said that when he woke up, he found that $120 in cash was missing from his pockets. He said he and his girlfriend went to the apartments and found that the door panels to her vehicle had been removed and thrown in the back seat. Two speakers, a tool box and miscellaneous tools were missing.

12:51 p.m. To W. Jackson St. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that a tenant was evicted and took several appliances with her. She said that a washer, dryer and refrigerator that were supposed to stay in the apartment were taken. She said that a baseboard heater, a door and miscellaneous copper wires and pipes were removed. The tenant was contacted and she said that she left the appliances in the apartment. She said that several other subjects were still moving her belongings out when she left, but she did not know any of their names.

6:29 p.m. To the Speedway lot. A man reported that he had been waiting since 6:00 to pick up his son for court-ordered visitation, but the mother has not shown up yet. He asked the deputy to accompany him to her home on Falcon Dr. They arrived and the mother’s boyfriend said that her attorney advised her not to turn the children over to the father. He was advised that there is a court order, but he insisted that there would be no exchange. The man was advised what happened and that the deputy could not enforce custody, but would file a report for him to take to the court.

7:14 p.m. To Lakeshore Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she was arguing with her intoxicated boyfriend but that he left. She said that he wanted her to hit him. She said that when she refused, he hit himself and said that he would claim that she hit him. Two other witnesses confirmed her story. At 8:34 p.m., deputies were called back and the boyfriend and his daughter were arguing and throwing things around the home. The daughter said her dad told her that the girlfriend hit him in the face, so she told the girlfriend to pack her things and move out. No one agreed to leave the residence to cool down. All parties were advised that if deputies were called out again, charges would be filed.

10:23 p.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a burglary. A man reported that someone had entered his apartment and took several items. He said the door was locked and he is unsure how entry was made. The deputy saw pry marks on the door.

Sat 11/5

5:37 p.m. To Vine Rd. for a report of vandalism. A man reported that his home had been egged and the windshield of his vehicle was cracked. The deputy saw the crack was not a spider-web pattern as if it had been struck, but was a single crack like a stress fracture. He suspects neighbors for egging his home. He said he is living with a woman who is dating the neighbor’s ex-boyfriend. He said that the neighbors have harassed the woman at her workplace. Both were advised to stay away from the neighbors.

Bethel Township (Miami Co.)

Sat 10/29

8:32 p.m. Disturbance reported in the 6800 block of US Route 40. As deputy was enroute dispatch advised the victim had left residence on foot with two children. Deputy located the female and children near Big Mike’s Gas Station. Victim stated she and the two juvenile children were at the residence as she was preparing dinner. Stephen Doak became verbally aggressive towards her and began breaking items in the residence. When she didn’t participate in the verbal argument, Doak grabbed and pulled her to the ground. One of the kids stepped in and grabbed Doak in an effort to prevent him from striking the victim. Doak stood up and headed butted the kid. While talking to the three, deputy observed Doak driving by. All three were returned to the residence where a domestic violence packet was completed. Another deputy was able to make contact with Doak who returned home and was able to provide his side of the story. Doak was placed into custody for two (2) counts of domestic violence and transported to the Miami County Incarceration Facility.

Sun 10/30

8:29 p.m. Suspicious person at Bethel High School, 7490 S. State Route 201. A teacher reported subjects had entered the construction area of the new school. Upon arrival, the deputy was unable to locate the vehicle in question. Currently there is a chain link fence around the school and no open gates or forced entry was observed. Running the vehicle registration, it returned with a Gearhart address in Troy. Deputy responded to the address and contact was made with a male and female. They stated Daniel Thompson was in possession of the vehicle. Contact was made with him and he responded to the residence along with two juvenile females. They said they knew why the deputy was there and gave their statements. They admitted going to the school and finding access through a gate. All three said they just wanted to check out the new school being built. One of the juveniles decided to take a hard hat from the scene. The deputy explained the severity of their crime and contact was made with the juvenile’s parents. Deputy contacted the county Prosecutor for possible charges. It was determined that all three would be charged with criminal trespassing.

Fri 11/4

11:49 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. State Route 202 and Tipp Elizabeth Road.

Sat 11/5

12:17 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. State Route 202 and E. State Route 571.

12:48 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of N. Second Street and US Route 40.

1:19 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of US Route 40 and S. State Route 202.

10:32 a.m. Theft not in progress in the 9100 block of S. State 201. A TV and DVD player were stolen from a storage unit.

2:20 p.m. Theft not in progress in the 7500 block of Palmer Road. A snow blower had been stolen from an unlocked barn. Hand tools and small equipment near the blower had not been touched.

Sun 11/6

8:30 p.m. Theft not in progress in the 7100 block of Singer Road. A horse tack was stolen from a stable where the RP boards her horses.

Mon 11/7

9:35p.m. Telecommunications harassment in the 6900 block of Wonder Way. Male had called and sent numerous text messages to a female. She wanted him to stop. Deputy attempted to contact the male and had to leave a message advising him of the situation. He was told to stop communicating with the female and he was trespassed from her property.

9:35 p.m. Telephone harassment in the 6900 block of Wonder Way. At the conclusion of the investigation a male was warned for trespassing and telecommunication harassment.

Tues 11/8

2:54 p.m. Accident with no injury in the area of E. State Route 571 and S. State Route 201.

Wed 11/9

6:47 a.m. Accident with no injury in the 7900 block of Pisgah Road.

5:10 p.m. Suspicious person in the 9200 block of Shroyer Drive. RP requested documentation of a male and how he had behaved in a suspicious manner during a service call.
