Saturday 2/11

9:27 p.m. To Brubaker Dr. for a report of two females fighting. A woman reported that a female subject came to her apartment looking for her boyfriend. When she told the subject that her boyfriend was not there, she became irate and began hitting the door. She said that there was no physical altercation and that when she yelled to a neighbor to call police, the subject left. She asked that deputies try to contact the subject and tell her not to return. A deputy was able to contact the subject, who said that she went to the woman’s residence looking for her husband because the woman was holding him hostage. She said that the woman hit her in the face and that she has scratches on her face. The deputy asked to meet with her so that the deputy could photograph her injuries, but the subject refused. The subject was advised that if she didn’t meet with the deputy, charges could not be filed. She said that was fine. She was strongly advised not to return to the woman’s home, and she said that she wouldn’t.

Sunday 2/12

1:53 p.m. To Styer Dr. for a report of an unwanted guest. A man reported that people were in the building that he owns and that they were there illegally. He said that he rented the apartment to a man who allowed someone else to live there. The deputy spoke with a female at the apartment, and she said that her friend rented the apartment, but decided not to live there, so he let her and her boyfriend live there. She said that she awoke one morning to find the property owner sitting on her bed, and that he tried to enter again today. She said that he did not have permission to enter. The property owner said that there was no written agreement with the woman or her boyfriend. He was advised to give them until Tuesday to move out. The woman was advised that she has to move out.

Tuesday 2/14

9:46 a.m. A Clay St. woman asked to meet the deputy at the New Carlisle Fire House about a suspicious package. She said that yesterday she noticed a package on her front porch. She said it had been opened and resealed. She said that when she opened it, she became light-headed and nauseous. She said she quickly put the items in a plastic bag and took it outside. She said she contacted the company that sent it, and they advised that this could not have happened at their warehouse, and advised her to contact the post office. The New Carlisle Post Office said that they would not accept it because of possible unknown contents. A Sheriff’s Office Sergeant opened the items wearing an oxygen mask provided by the Fire Department. He found a clear plastic sandwich bag with damage to the bottom, two black trash bags and a bottle of supplements. The seal had not been broken on the supplements. The Fire Department contacted the company, and they said that there could have been a smell from the packing material, and that happens sometimes. All items were placed in a sealed bucket and turned over to investigations.

Wednesday 2/15

1:40 p.m. To Stratmore St. for a report of phone harassment. A man reported that a male subject is accusing him of breaking into his storage unit. He said that he is mad at the subject for “setting him up” to be arrested on warrants. He said that he recorded the conversation, and during the call the man invited the subject to come over and fight him. The recording does not capture the subject threatening the man. The entire time the deputy was on the scene, the man repeatedly threatened to assault the subject. He said that he had received threatening text messages from the subject, but they were not on his phone. The deputy tried to advise the man on the procedure to obtain a protection order, but the man cursed at the deputy.

Thursday 2/16

10:11 a.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a car into a building. A woman reported that her foot slipped off of the brake hit the gas and she struck the building. Bethel Twp. EMS inspected the damage and said that it was cosmetic and not functional damage.

Monday 2/6

5:40 p.m. Female responded to the MCSO to file a complaint again her husband who resides in the 9000 block of Bellefontaine Road. The female stated her husband had inappropriately touched her daughter. When she confronted her husband, he didn’t deny it. The female was advised either a detective or deputy would be in touch with her in the next several days.

Friday 2/10

7:58 a.m. Theft reported in the 7700 Staley Road. I lock was cut off a trailer and left at the scene. Report states it appears bolt cutters were used. Stolen was a 2012 noncommercial trailer, 5 feet x 10 feet, black in color and a week deck.

Saturday 2/11

00:26 a.m. Traffic stop for equipment violation in the area of S. Dayton Brandt and Agenbroad Road. Contact was made with the driver, Larry Whitaker, and reason for the stop explained. Checking his status through LEADS it was found he was suspended. Whitaker told deputy he thought all of his fines had been paid and was currently a valid driver. He was issued a citation for Driving Under Suspension/noncompliance and released from the scene to a valid driver.

1:57 a.m. Traffic stop for lane violation in the area of Bethelville Drive and Agenbroad Road. Contact was made with the driver, Gary Floyd Jr., and reason for the stop explained. While speaking with him, the deputy could smell an odor of an alcoholic beverage emit from the vehicle. Floyd admitted to consuming two shots of alcohol earlier at a restaurant. He was also questioned about the burnt marijuana smell coming com the vehicle. He stated he had a bag of marijuana in his pocket and handed it off to the deputy. He was cited for lanes of travel, driving under suspension (child support) and possession of marijuana. Floyd was provided a ride to his residence.

3:25 a.m. Traffic stop for failure to dim lights in the area of Widener Road and S. State Route 201. Contact was made with the driver, Timmathy Henderson, and his passenger. Their driving statuses were checked through LEADS and it was found Henderson’s license was suspended and his passenger’s was expired. Henderson was issued a citation for failure to dim and driving under suspension (noncompliance). They were released from the scene to a valid driver.

Sunday 2/12

3:40 a.m. Traffic stop for lane violations in the area of Ross Road and S. State Route 202. Contact was made with the driver, Joshua Shaw, and an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected emitting from the vehicle. Shaw, who is 20 years old, admitted to drinking two beers a few hours before and currently had a suspended license from an OVI earlier this year. Shaw agreed to submit to a series of field sobriety tests. Unable to complete them as instructed, he was arrested for OVI. He was transported to the MCSO where he refused to submit to a breath test. He was issued a citation for OVI, driving under suspension (OVI), left of center and underage consumption.

3:23 p.m. Theft not in progress reported in the 5800 block of Scarff Road. Deputy responded to take a theft report reference a stolen dirt bike that was recovered by Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy met with property owner and owner of the dirt bike. The property owner was storing the dirt bike and neither people knew the dirt bike was stolen until Clark County contacted the dirt bike owner. No leads or suspects at this time.

7:50 p.m. Telecommunications harassment in the 9800 block of W. Haskett Lane. At the conclusion of the investigation a male was warned for harassment.

Tuesday 2/14

8:43 a.m. Bethel Schools, 7490 S. State Route 201, requested MCSO and TCPD deploy both K9s for a drug sniff. MCSO K9 Bear did not alert to anything. TCPD’s K9 Bob alerted to one locker and car that was searched. No narcotics were found.
