Monday 3/6

7:19 a.m. To Rhonda Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she and the father of her child were arguing about money. She said she knew he was going to be violent, so she went to a neighbor’s home. She said he ran after her and dragged her from the neighbor’s stairs, took her to the rear of the house, punched her in the face three times and bit her hand causing it to bleed. She had a bloody nose, a black eye and broken blood vessels in her eye. She also had a bite mark on her arm. Warrants were issued against Justin Vancil, of Rosewood Rd., for domestic violence and assault. Vancil has active warrants for domestic violence.

12:06 p.m. To S. Scott St. for a report of a theft. On March 1, a woman reported that a former aide used her account information to pay her car payment for eight months. She said a detective had talked to her, but the Detective section has no record of it. She was advised to get bank statements showing the withdrawls from her account and to call back. Today the deputy contacted her asking why the woman never called the deputy back. The woman said that none of the statements showed the withdrawls. She said that she must have dreamed up the whole thing. The case was closed as unfounded.

7:06 p.m. After a discussion at a city council meeting, a man was leaving the meeting and stated to City Manager Randy Bridge, “Let me catch you outside.” The deputy followed him outside and asked what he meant by the threat. He said that it wasn’t a threat, and that he was just upset. He was advised about making threats, especially at an open meeting.

Tuesday 3/7

1:12 a.m. To Fyffe Ave. for a 911 hangup. A woman reported that she and her boyfriend, who was intoxicated, were involved in a little argument. She said that he had called 911. Deputies learned that the woman has an active protection order against the boyfriend, so he was arrested for violating the order and was taken to the Clark County jail.

Wednesday 3/8

11:06 a.m. To Firwood Dr. A woman said she was looking on the internet at things for sale in Beavercreek. She said a post indicated that children were for sale. She said she thought they were within Clark County. An investigation showed that they were in Beavercreek. Information was forwarded to Beavercreek PD.

5:49 p.m. To Prentice Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that he was arguing with his brother over the theft of $45. He said that the argument did not become physical.

6:50 p.m. To Prentice Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she was involved in a physical dispute with her sister. She said her sister slammed her to the ground, then slammed her head on the ground. She said she only wanted deputies to talk to her sister. The sister said that the woman got in her face and that she pushed her to get her away. She said her sister became dramatic in her fall. Due to conflicting stories, no charges were filed. Both were advised that if they hit each other, they would be charged.

Thursday 3/9

8:03 p.m. To Portland Ave. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that her son had an I-Pod outside while he was playing basketball. She said he came in for dinner and forgot the I-Pod. She said when he went out to get it, it was gone. There are no suspects.

Friday 3/10

2:26 p.m. To New Carlisle City Hall for a report of a threat. The deputy listened to a voice mail message from a man who ranted about how bureaucrats need to let a woman keep her pot-bellied pig even though it is against city code. No threats were made on the message. The number came back to Broward County, Florida.

4:08 p.m. While searching for a wanted suspect in the area of Weinland and Braun, the deputy found another wanted suspect. He was arrested on his warrants for domestic violence and assault and was taken to the Clark County Jail.

Sunday 3/12

12:43 a.m. To Lundgren Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she was involved in a verbal argument with her daughter. She said the daughter wanted to use her car to help start her boyfriend’s car. The boyfriend left when she called 911 because he has outstanding warrants.

Monday 3/13

7:52 a.m. To W. National Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that his live-in girlfriend is trying to kick him out. He said that they are under land contract on the house and wanted the deputy to explain to her that she can’t kick him out. The girlfriend said she was aware that she can’t kick him out and agreed to leave his property alone. He said he would return while she was at work and retrieve his belongings.

3:58 p.m. To Drake Ave. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that sometime overnight, someone took a cell phone from her friend’s vehicle that was parked in her driveway. She said the phone was left in plain sight by mistake and that the vehicle was not locked. She requested a report for insurance purposes.

11:11 p.m. To N. Church St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that he was involved in a verbal argument with his girlfriend. He said she slapped him in the face and threw a pair of shoes at him. He was not forthcoming with information and refused to sign a statement. He had a scratch on his face from the altercation. The girlfriend was arrested for domestic violence and assault and taken to the Clark County Jail.

Tuesday 3/14

8:19 a.m. To Coachhill Ln. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she was arguing with her boyfriend and he hit her in the leg with her purse. She said he emptied the contents of her purse and threw them at her. She said he grabbed her arm, leaving a mark. The boyfriend said he argued, but did not grab her arm. Due to her statement and her injury, the boyfriend was charged with domestic violence and assault and taken to the Clark County Jail.

11:11 p.m. To Lower Valley Pike for a report of a theft. A woman reported that two co-workers took her wallet containing her driver’s license, debit card and other miscellaneous items. Surveillance video showed the two employees rifling through the woman’s purse and taking the items in question. While on the scene, the deputy was notified that Springfield PD was at the home of one of the employees because she had apparently overdosed on heroin. They advised that the second employee was on the scene but was trying to leave. He asked Springfield PD to detain her. The deputy went to the Springfield residence and the employee said that she took the wallet, and the items were concealed in the back yard. The wallet was retrieved, and still contained the RP’s debit card and license, but not the wedding bands. The employee said she did not know anything about the rings, but later said that the overdosed employee had them on her finger. The overdosed employee was charged with felony theft and was held at the hospital for evaluation. The wallet was returned to the RP.

Wednesday 3/15

1:58 a.m. To Stratmore St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she and her boyfriend were at a bar and started arguing. She said the argument continued as they were leaving. She said he assaulted her in the vehicle while on Styer Dr. She said he tried to get out, and the boyfriend wrecked into a fence, causing heavy front end damage. She said she walked home, and that the boyfriend arrived home shortly after and continued to argue with her in front of her children. She said he threw a lamp, broke a closet door and tore fixtures off the bathroom wall. She said he began assaulting her until her daughter called 911. The boyfriend then left the scene. A warrant was issued for Frederick Hale, of Stratmore St., for domestic violence and assault.

Thursday 3/9

9:47 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of Palmer and Singer Road. Deputy observed a vehicle that was missing a right brake light lens. All the wires and the light bulb were handing on the back bumper. While turning onto Singer Road, the back passenger side tire crossed the white fog line and a traffic stop was initiated. Contact was made with the driver and two passengers. While speaking with the driver, deputy noticed the front seat passenger and registered owner Dylan Cox was moving around in his seat as though he couldn’t get comfortable. Deputy also observed empty cigarillo wrappers laying all of the inside of the vehicle. Cox was asked to step out of the vehicle and was questioned about his nervousness. When asked several questions, Cox made eye contact with the deputy. When asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle, Cox looked away and stated there shouldn’t be. Cox gave the deputy consent to search the vehicle. The back seat passenger, Patrick Miller, was asked to step out and an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. The driver was also asked to step out of the vehicle and she said the deputy would find an opened beer in the vehicle. She also stated if there was marijuana in the vehicle, it would be found in the glove compartment. Deputy did locate a clear bag containing green plant material that smelled like raw marijuana in the glove compartment. Located in the back seat were two empty bottles of Red Apple Ale beer. Cox admitted to consuming the two beers at a friend’s house and planned to throw the bottles away at home. Miller was issued a citation for underage consumption. Cox later admitted the clear bag of plant material was marijuana and claimed ownership. Cox was issued a citation for possession of marijuana less than 100 grams. Driver was given a warning for the lane violation.

Friday 3/10

8:20 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. State Route 201 and Singer Road.

6:29 p.m. Open door reported in the 8100 block of Palmer Road. RP stated nobody should in the residence. Canine Bear was deployed to clear the house with nobody found inside. RP arrived shortly after and secured the house.

Sunday 3/12

00:12 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of US Route 40 and S. State Route 202.

1:00 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. State Route 202 and E. State Route 571.

3:37 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of US Route 40 and S. State Route 201

Monday 3/13

7:53 a.m. Theft not in progress in the 900 block of Bellefontaine Road. RP advised she had a moving company move her on Friday 3/10 from a Dayton address to Bellefontaine Road. She had placed a bank bag containing $500 in a marked box that had been taped shut. On Saturday morning she was checking for the box, found it located under numerous other boxes and it has been torn open and the bank bag was missing. She advised she watched the movers unload 90% of the truck at the new residence but didn’t watch them load in Dayton. According to the RP the only time the movers would have had time to open the box and not be seen was in the truck. RP advised she will be speaking with the owner of the moving company. Deputy advised her to let him know what she found out after speaking with the moving company.

Wednesday 3/15

12:39 p.m. Traffic stop for moving violations in the 6100 S. State Route 202. Deputy observed a male passenger with his entire upper body out of the vehicle’s window and gesturing. The vehicle was also within a few feet of the vehicle in front of it. Deputy observed the vehicle repeatedly cross the double yellow line, as if intending to pass the vehicles in front of it, then quickly brake and return to the correct lane of travel. Deputy believes once the driver became aware of him behind him, he created space between the two vehicles and maintained his lane. A travel stop was initiated and contact made with the two males in the vehicle. The passenger eventually admitted there were following a relative in the vehicle ahead of them. While speaking with them, the truck they had been following pulled up to the location and the male got out and approached the deputy. The male was irate, yelling at the two males and deputy. He was advised to return to his truck and the deputy would speak with him shortly. The first two males began going into more detail regarding the incident between the two vehicles. They stated they observed the male pick up the female relative in Troy and they had exchanged threats. The two males stated they were protecting the female relative, who they described as an adult but mentally disabled. Deputy then spoke to the male and female. He was still angry and agitated and advised he wanted the two males arrested and taken to jail. He advised he did pick up the female and intended to get some lunch. He agreed that they had exchanged verbal threats. The female stated she was handicapped but had no guardian. She realized the two males were trying to protect her but she didn’t need them to do so. The female stated she had known this male, whereas the male stated he just met her and was unaware of her mental disability. The male decided he did not want charges filed, the female declined to fill out a statement. All involved individuals agreed to leave one another alone. All individuals left the scene without further incident.

11:42 p.m. Disturbance reported at the A and R Reck MHP, 4220 US Route 40. Husband and wife had been in a verbal argument. Wife advised husband got mad and cut a hole in their air mattress. She also advised he took about 15 800 mg Ibuprofen pills and left the residence. While speaking with her, he returned to the residence. He also advised the argument was verbal only, no threats of harm made. He also admitted to cutting a hole in the air mattress out of anger. When asked, he also admitted to taking the pills in attempt to harm himself. He agreed to go to the hospital for evaluation and allowed Bethel EMS transport.
