Monday, 10/26
7:10 AM  To Addison-New Carlisle Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that overnight someone entered his unlocked vehicle and took a firearm.
4:10 PM  To W. National Rd. for a report of a scam. A man said that his son received a letter from a body shop in California telling him that he had to send $4200 to reclaim his vehicle. He said that he sold the vehicle and that it had been titled to the new owners on January 26, 2015. He said he contacted the Attorney General’s office and they advised him to contact the BMV in California. The deputy also advised him to contact the Federal Trade Commission.
Wednesday, 10/28
6:20 AM  To I-70 near the 46 mile marker for a report of an accident. A westbound driver said that a tractor trailer passed him and splashed water onto his windshield. He said that it startled him, he hit the brakes and hydroplaned, going into the left lane and struck the concrete barrier. He was charged with failure to control.
9:01 AM  To Hedwick Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone took her purse from her bedroom overnight. It contained a checkbook, her driver’s license and other forms of identification.
10:15 AM  To N. Church St. for a report of a fraud. A man reported that someone had opened a new phone line on his Verizon account. He said that he noticed it when he received his bill. Verizon told him that the account was opened on July 13, 2015 at Huber Heights. Verizon has disconnected the unauthorized line.
4:36 PM  To Hartley Ave. for a report of phone harassment. A woman reported that her son’s girlfriend has been calling both of them since they broke up. She said the girlfriend calls several times each day, and even calls their places of employment. She said the girlfriend called her son’s place of employment and stated that he is doing drugs and is trying to get him fired. She was given information on obtaining a protection order. Attempts to reach the girlfriend were unsuccessful.
5:14 PM  To Winding Way for a report of a burglary. A man reported that his house has been vacant for about three months. He said that he went to the house today and found two windows open and the back door unlocked. He said that all windows and doors were secure when he left. He said that someone must have taken the garage door opener since there was no sign of forced entry. Several electronic items were missing.
Thursday, 10/29
12:05 AM  To Campbell Ave. for a report of a custody dispute. A woman reported that she was at her ex-husband’s home to drop off their children. When they arrived, she realized that she had forgotten her daughter’s homework, her mother and sister-in-law who accompanied her went to pick it up. She said her ex-husband then began arguing with her about needing money for the children. When her mother and sister-in-law returned with the homework, the husband said “You’re never going to see your kids again.” She said her husband grabbed her sister-in-law by her hooded sweatshirt and threw her out the front door. Attempts to contact the husband were unsuccessful.
12:42 AM  To New Carlisle Pike for a report of an abandoned vehicle. A man reported that yesterday an unknown individual parked a vehicle on his front lawn and advised that he would be back later for it. He said that the individual returned about an hour later and appeared to be very intoxicated. He said that the man cleaned out the vehicle and again said he would return for it. He said he told the man that it was not OK to leave it on his lawn and that he would have to move it. He said that the man told him that he would have AAA tow it. The deputy saw a note on the vehicle that stated that the engine was blown and gave a phone number. Dispatch called the number and reached an intoxicated man who was difficult to understand. He did agree to allow the vehicle to be towed.
8:38 AM  To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a breaking and entering. A man reported that his storage unit had been broken into. The manager then checked other units and found two that had been broken into. Several items were missing.
1:35 PM  To Rea Dr. for a report of an assault. A woman reported that she was at a friend’s home when a woman entered the residence and began hitting her. She said she tried to repel the attack, but sustained multiple hits to her face and lips. She said that at the conclusion of the fight, she and the suspect exchanged words and the suspect left. She did not wish to press charges.
4:10 PM  To Styer Dr. for a report of vandalism. A man reported that someone had cut the right front tire of his vehicle several times. There are no suspects.
Saturday, 10/31
1:32 AM  Traffic stop on Gerlaugh Rd. at Lake Rd. The driver had hand tremors as he handed the deputy his license. He had no insurance or registration. The passenger said that she had just bought the vehicle and had not yet transferred the registration. She provided a title that was notarized in September. The driver spoke with slow slurred speech and had watery, bloodshot eyes. Exiting the vehicle, he was slow and unsteady. He said he had drunk two beers. A search yielded a glass bowl with marijuana in it, and he said he had just smoked marijuana. A search of the vehicle yielded several bags of marijuana. The driver failed several field sobriety tests, and was charged with fictitious plates, OVI, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
4:33 AM  While on patrol, a deputy saw a vehicle on Sheehan Dr. that had been used in a robbery in Dayton. The owner said that he had allowed his ex-girlfriend use it, and he had heard that she was using it for thefts. He said that is why he picked it up from her. Dispatch advised that Dayton Police wanted the vehicle towed so they could process it.
11:50 AM  To Hartley Ave. for a report of an unwanted guest. A man reported that he and his step-father had been arguing all day. He said that the argument got more heated and escalated to a shoving match, then to wrestling on the ground. Both sustained injuries. The man’s mother refused to cooperate with deputies.

Friday, 10/23
10:13 PM Traffic stop in the area of East State Route 571 and South State Route 201. Vehicle was stopped and driver and passengers identified. An odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. The driver, Matthew Lacey was asked to exit the vehicle for a roadside interview. Lacey admitted that he had recently smoked marijuana in the vehicle. It was explained to him that the deputy thought there was marijuana in the vehicle and he had a probable cause to search. Asked if he would find anything illegal in the vehicle, Lacy responded there were 14 capsules of heroin and a marijuana pipe in the center compartment. During the physical search of the vehicle also found was a straw with heroin residue. The three passengers were asked to exit the vehicle and during a pat down a large baggie of marijuana was found in Matthew McKenzie’s pocket. McKenzie was cited for possession of marijuana. Lacy was transported to the Miami County Jail where he was booked in on possession of heroin.

07:21 AM Menacing complaint in the 6800 block of Singer Road

08:42 AM Menacing complaint in the 6900 block of Bethelville Drive. Female stated her ex-husband had been stalking her for the past year. She said he had been watching her, following her around and had come onto her property. The female asked that he be trespassed from her property. Deputy spoke with the ex-husband and he stated he understood he was not permitted on her property.
10:53 PM Disturbance reported in the 7700 block of Windham Drive. RP said a family member came home intoxicated and began to argue with the RP. The argument was verbal only and the family member agreed to leave for the night.
Thursday, Nov 5
02:23 AM Burglary in progress in the 8800 block of South Mann Road. RP reported there were three males attempting to get into a barn. The barns and vehicles were check and all appeared to be okay. Extra checks will be done in the area.
