Sunday, August 23

3:07AM To New Carlisle Pike for a report of an unresponsive man. A woman reported that she and the man went to pick up beer, then returned to her home to drink it. She soon fell asleep, then woke up later to find the man on a chair on the porch and he was unresponsive. Bethel Medics administered Narcan and he was responsive. He was transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center for evaluation and treatment. Deputies checked the scene for evidence of drug use but found none.

12:36PM To Frayne Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that some time overnight, someone stole her son’s bicycle. She said that another bike was left in front of her home. She believes the suspect took her son’s bike because it was better. The bike was submitted into property.

1:40PM To N. Church St. for a report of a theft. A man reported that someone took two speakers from the trunk of his vehicle that was parked in his driveway. He said that the vehicle was unlocked.

11:12PM To Hartley Dr. A woman reported that she drove here from Kentucky to check on her son. She said she went to the child’s father’s address and learned that he had taken the child to a music festival. When she arrived at the festival, she found that the father was slightly intoxicated and that the father’s brother was with them. She expressed concern to the deputy that the father was drinking while the child was with him. She was advised that the brother drove, not the intoxicated father, and the brother was helping care for the child. She was also advised that the father’s level of intoxication was not enough that he couldn’t care for himself. She was advised that no crime was committed. She requested that the incident be documented.

Monday, August 24

5:05PM To Marquart Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone broke into her vehicle and took her debit card. She said that she has called the bank to cancel the card and that no charges were made to it.

Tuesday, August 25

11:36AM To Dayton-Lakeview Rd. and Musselman Rd. for a report of an accident. A driver southbound on Dayton-Lakeview said that he was unable to stop for a vehicle slowing to turn left onto Musselman and struck it causing minor damage to both. He was cited for assured clear distance and ordered into court. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

3:17PM To Smith Park for a report of a woman sleeping on a bench. The woman did not appear to be breathing. EMS arrived and asked standardized questions for mental awareness and she answered the questions correctly. She said that she had come from Kentucky to visit her mother at a nursing home. She said that she was staying with a friend and was waiting for the friend to come home. She said that she was under the influence of her prescription medications, and that this has happened to her before. She was transported to the friend’s home. At 4:35 p.m., the woman had walked into a business and went to sleep on the floor. She was taken to Huber Heights Medical Center for evaluation.

5:03PM To Rawson Dr. for a report of an unruly juvenile. A woman reported that her stepdaughter has been disrespectful to her. Her husband soon arrived and said that the problem between the two has been going on for about 7 years. The parents did not wish to file charges, but were advised that if deputies returned, charges would be filed.

7:58PM To New Carlisle Pike for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that her husband had grabbed her by the neck and threw her into a storm door. The husband reported that his wife had pushed her as he was leaving the residence. The woman said the altercation took place because her husband was under the influence of some kind of drug. The husband was arrested for one count of domestic violence and one count of assault and taken to the Clark County Jail.

10:54PM To Fernmont Dr. for a report of a woman causing problems. A woman reported that she has been evicted and was in the process of moving out. She said that she saw the property owner sitting on the road next to the driveway. She said she approached the owner to see if she needed something and the owner waved the eviction papers in her face. The property owner stated that the woman had to be out by August 26, and that she was going to force the woman out at 12:01 a.m. on the 26th. She was advised that the deputies understood the paperwork to state that she had until the end of the day on the 26th. She was advised to leave the woman alone until the 27th.

11:56PM To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a possible burglary. While deputies were speaking with the female RP, a male came out of the apartment, then went back inside. She identified him as the father of her child and rolled her eyes. The father stated that he was asleep when he heard someone knocking at the door. He said he looked out the peephole and saw a male in the hallway. He said the subject took a running start and tried to kick the door in but was unsuccessful. He said that the subject then went into an apartment across the hallway. The woman said that she believed the father sent a text to a man who sexually assaulted her and that might be why the subject tried to kick the door in. No one answered the door at the apartment across the hall, and the resident at another apartment did not want to get involved.

Wednesday, August 26

1:50AM To Winchester St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she and her boyfriend were arguing over money and how much time he spends at bars. The boyfriend said that when the argument was going nowhere, he went to bed. He said that his girlfriend came into his bedroom trying to rekindle the argument, but he ignored her and went back to sleep. The woman said that the boyfriend grabbed her by the back of her robe, pushed her down and jerked her head and neck from side to side. The boyfriend was placed under arrest for one count of Domestic Violence and one count of Assault.

3:18AM To Grove Rd. for a report of an assault. A man reported that he heard a knock at his door and a young black male said that he needed help. The subject said that his haw had been broken from a possible assault. He said he did not want the deputy’s assistance, he just wanted to go to the hospital. He said he did not know where the assault occurred, nor did he know who hit him. Bethel Twp EMS arrived and transported the subject to Huber Heights ER.

8:06AM To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a theft. A store manager reported that last Friday a man stole merchandise by placing it inside his pants. Store surveillance video confirmed the theft. He said he did not report it then because he did not know the suspect. He said he saw the suspect a couple of days later and got a license number. Deputies went to the address of the registered owner but no one was home.

10:09AM To Flora Dr. for a report of vandalism. A man reported that someone had broken out the front and rear windows to his vehicle. A rock was found on the front seat. He said he heard his dogs barking around 5:00 a.m. but did not get up to see why. Some of the neighbors were interviewed, but no one saw or heard anything.

2:00PM To N. Hampton Rd. A man reported that he received a letter stating that he has a warrant out from Cleveland Municipal Court for a traffic offense that occurred in 2012. He said that he has never lived in Cleveland nor did he commit the offense. A check of the system showed no traffic offense. He said that he would try to contact the Cleveland Court to get the matter resolved.

7:20PM To Fyffe Ave. for a report of a theft. A man reported that someone had entered his vehicle and took tools. He said that other vehicles in the area were broken into.

Thursday, August 27

12:35AM To Sycamore St. for a report of a neighbor dispute. A man reported that he was recently served with an eviction notice from his landlord who is related to the tenants next door. He said that the neighbors instructed him to shut off the water supply due to a malfunction inside their apartment. Their shutoff valve is in his apartment. They later instructed him to turn it back on. He said that tonight the neighbors began harassing him about turning off their water. He said that he heard a knock at his door and saw five subjects on his porch. He said that one of them “lunged” at him so he sprayed the subject with pepper spray. The man’s girlfriend filled out a statement supporting his chain of events. Deputies went to the neighbor’s residence and a woman stated that the man had been throwing trash over the fence wanting them to burn it. She said that they told him that they were not going to burn it, and threw the trash back in his yard. She said that her brother was upset that the man had turned off their water for no reason. She said that when they went to his residence to confront him about the water, he said that he never turned it off. She said that there was a brief argument and then her friend was sprayed with pepper spray. The man who was sprayed denied making any threatening moves. He said he would press charges. The RP was placed under arrest for one count of assault and one count of disorderly conduct and taken to the Clark County Jail.

1:53AM To Rawson Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone took some of her medications. She said that 13 Oxycodone tablets, 60 Morphine tablets and 18 Neurontin tablets were missing. She said that she is bedridden from surgery and that her husband gives her medications to her.

Friday, August 28

1:04PM To Dallas Dr. for a report of a possible burglary. A man reported that he had permission to remove a washer and dryer from a trailer on the premises. The owner of the trailer confirmed this. The property owner said that she has court paperwork stating that the trailer owner was evicted from the property and was not allowed to be on the premises and was not allowed to remove anything. The owner of the trailer stated that he never received that paperwork. He was advised that the judge would be charging him for Contempt of Court.

5:41PM Traffic stop on Whaley Rd. The driver admitted that she did not have a license. She also said that she was on antibiotics and steroids. Getting out of the vehicle, she was pacing and bouncing in place. Asked about her drug use, she said that she was on a prescribed anti-depressant and had snorted heroin the other day. She smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking Vodka a few hours ago. She failed several field sobriety tests and was charged with OVI. Her vehicle was searched and deputies found a syringe, several opened packets of suboxone, two Gabapentin capsules and a bottle of suboxone with a half of a pill in it. She said that those items belonged to her boyfriend. She was also charged with possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of a dangerous drug, no operator’s license, driving under suspension and marked lanes.

8:05PM To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of an unruly individual. A man was reported to be at the McDonalds, yelling at customers because his bike was stolen. The man said that he parked his bike inside the restaurant and went to the restroom. He said that when he returned about 5 minutes later, his bike was gone. McDonalds management said that they would review security video and would provide a copy to the deputies.

Saturday, August 29

7:41PM A deputy was following a vehicle on Main St. driven by a man with several active warrants. The deputy initiated a traffic stop in the IGA parking lot. The driver had red eyes and exhibited poor dexterity as he reached for his ID. Dispatch confirmed the active warrants. The vehicle smelled of marijuana, and the driver said he had smoked about an hour previous and that he had some in his shirt pocket. The vehicle was searched and deputies found a syringe, digital scales and a baggie with marijuana residue in it. He said he smokes marijuana for his arthritis pain and the syringe contained wallpaper glue. He was charged with OVI, no operator’s license, possession of drug paraphernalia and for the outstanding warrants.
