Sunday 1/10

3:41 a.m. To Hartley Ave. for a report of phone harassment. A woman reported receiving countless text messages and phone calls from her ex-boyfriend. She said that they have been separated for over a year and that he wants to get back together again. She said that she told him to stop contacting her because she does not want to have a relationship with him. She said that she does not want to press charges but asked for information on filing for a protection order. She called back around 10:00 a.m. to report that he had called again about 50 times. She said that he told her that he was going to shoot up cars in the driveway and made other threats.

4:47 a.m. To Funston Ave. for a report of a possible domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she and the father of her child had been arguing after a night of drinking. She said that he became upset when she did not want to be intimate with him. She said she went to the living room to sleep on the couch but he followed her and continued arguing. Both were intoxicated and agreed that it would be best if they stayed in separate residences until they sober up and work out their issues. The boyfriend left with his mother.

8:41 p.m. To New Carlisle Pike for a welfare check. A man reported that his sister-in-law was involved in a domestic dispute and suddenly stopped texting him. He said that her husband was holding a knife to her throat. The woman was contacted and stated that she was fine. She said that she was involved in a confrontation with her husband but would not elaborate. She was asked about the knife and said that there was a confrontation. She did not want a report taken. The brother-in-law was contacted and he said that she had come to his house and said that her husband was intoxicated and pulled out a switch blade and held it to her face. He said that she was afraid to go home but decided to go anyway. He said he became worried when she stopped texting him.

Monday 1/11

7:40 a.m. To S. Dayton Lakeview Rd. at Hartley Rd. for a report of an accident. A vehicle was stopped for the stop sign on Hartley and pulled out in front of a truck southbound on Dayton-Lakeview. The vehicle had snow and ice covering the window and could not see traffic. He was cited for failure to yield.

11:35 a.m. To W. Carpenter Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone stole her trash can. She said the refuse company needed a report.

11:35 a.m. To Cliffside Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone took her debit card and that this is the third time that it has happened. She said that almost $3000 has been taken in the three incidents. She said that her daughter moved in with her in August, and that she might be using it. The bank is investigating and requested a report.

Tuesday 1/12

3:04 a.m. To E. Main St. for a report of a domestic dispute. A woman reported that she and her live-in boyfriend were at a bar and brought another female home with them. She said that she went to the bathroom and returned to find the two in her bedroom. She and her boyfriend then began arguing. The boyfriend and the other woman left before deputies’ arrival. She was advised to call back if he returns and causes problems.

7:22 a.m. To Medway-Carlisle Rd. for a report of an accident. A vehicle travelling north on Medway-Carlisle Rd. slid on the curve, going into the opposing lane and struck a southbound vehicle. Both vehicles had problems stopping because of the road conditions.

7:30 a.m. To Gordon Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that his girlfriend went outside at 6:00 a.m. to warm up the car. He said that when he went outside to leave, the car was gone. Her purse was in the car. She called around 10:00 a.m. to report that her bank advised her that there was activity on her card at 6:30 a.m. at a business on Reading Rd.

8:56 a.m. To State Rt. 4 near Enon Rd. for a report of an accident. Two vehicles were eastbound on Rt. 4. One began to pass the other when the trailer he was towing began to shift and slide. The trailer struck the vehicle that was being passed, then jackknifed causing damage to the trailer and the towing vehicle.

9:22 a.m. To New Carlisle Pike near Bischoff Rd. for a report of an accident. An eastbound driver on New Carlisle Pike slid off of the left side of the road striking a telephone pole and direction sign.

4:22 p.m. To Kennedy Dr. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone took two I-phones from her porch. She said that UPS delivered them on January 6. She said that the seller requested a police report.

6:00 p.m. To Quick Rd. for a report of a bad check. A man reported that a woman wrote him a check, then stopped payment on it after receiving merchandise. He was advised to send a certified letter stating that he needs payment.

6:54 p.m. To Daleridge Rd. for a report of a domestic dispute. A woman reported that her son was arguing with her and left the residence. She said that he has been stressed over his job and trying to turn his life around. She said that they were arguing over money and his job, but that it did not turn physical. The son soon returned and stated that he left to “cool off.” He said that he is done with his old life and is just trying to make ends meet.

11:50 p.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that someone entered her vehicle and took a Kindle Fire. She said that the vehicle was unlocked. She said that her credit card information was on it.

Wednesday 1/13

1:20 a.m. To W. Washington St. for a report of a burglary. A woman reported that two white males wearing red handkerchiefs over their faces entered her front door and took a TV, then exited the residence. She said she heard a female voice outside yelling “hurry up.” All she remembers is that one of the subjects was wearing a dark jacket or sweatshirt. She said they got into a small 2-door black car and left. Deputies patrolled the area but could not find the suspects.

4:30 p.m. To Black Pike. A woman reported that two men came to her home while she was away and asked her children for her husband. They were wearing black business suits and said that they were from Washington but did not leave a contact or a card. The men said that they would come back. IT is unclear who the men are and what their business is with her husband.

5:20 p.m. To Hamilton Ave. for a report of a crash. A driver struck two vehicles parked on Hamilton Ave., then left the scene.

Thursday 1/14

4:09 a.m. To Charles Dr. to arrest Michael J. Goffinet for aggravated robbery and a parole violation. Family members had reported that Goffinet was at the residence trying to get in. He was reported to be armed and dangerous, after telling family members that “he was not going back to prison” and that he was “going out with a bang.” Gossinet was found on the porch and was ordered to the ground at gunpoint. He was cuffed and transported to the Clark County Jail without incident.

7:02 p.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a theft. A store employee reported that a male and female subject left the store tripping the anti-theft alarm, then got into a silver Chevy Impala and left quickly. He said that he did not know what had been taken. A woman who entered the store while the two subjects were leaving said that she knew the female suspect personally and provided her phone number. There was a theft reported at a nearby store involving a male and female subject. It is possible that the two incidents are related.

Friday 1/15

8:11 a.m. To Falcon Dr. for several reports of a suspicious male in the400 block. While enroute, the deputy was informed that the male entered a residence. Upon arrival, deputies found the front door unlocked. It did not appear to have been tampered with. A neighbor said she saw the man enter the residence and that the residents are at work. The resident was contacted and stated that no one is to be in his home. The resident’s daughter soon arrived and stated that she had given her boyfriend a key to the house and that he was inside. Deputies entered the home and found the boyfriend asleep on the couch. The boyfriend’s mother was contacted, and she stated that he was supposed to be visiting a friend, not at the girlfriend’s home. She said that she wanted him to return home immediately. The boyfriend was advised to go home.

9:59 a.m. To N. Scott St. for a report of a male not breathing. Deputies arrived and checked for a pulse and found a faint pulse. One deputy began a sternum rub and got a response. The man’s girlfriend stated that he had just used heroin and pointed to a nightstand in the bedroom. On the night stand was a syringe, a spoon and two mall filters on the spoon. All items were collected for evidence. New Carlisle EMS arrived and administered Narcam, then transported him to the hospital for evaluation. The evidence will be sent to the lab, and charges are pending lab results.

12:16 p.m. To Cliffside Dr. for a report of identity fraud. A man reported that someone had opened a Meijer credit card using his wife’s information. He said that they received a letter stating that the card had been used excessively over the past month. He said his wife called the issuing bank who stated that the card was opened three weeks before Christmas. He said that they requested a police report.

2:06 p.m. To New Carlisle Pike for a welfare check. A man reported that he received a call from an unknown male subject stating that his son’s cell phone was found on a pier in St. Louis, Missouri. He said he went to his son’s home and found lights on but no one home. He said that his son has a history of panhandling. He said that his son’s vehicle was purchased at a buy-here pay-here lot and has the capability of being shut down if payments are not made. The dealer was contacted, and they could not locate the vehicle. Neighbors stated that the son was last seen on January 11. On January 16, another deputy arrived at the son’s home and a neighbor said they saw the son and his girlfriend pack up the vehicle and leave about two days ago.

8:10 p.m. To N. Church St. for a report of a theft. A man reported that his roommate had taken his pain medication without his permission. He said that the two argued, and he left to “cool off.” He said that when he returned, his medication and several other items were missing.

Saturday 1/16

2:38 a.m. To Weinland and Frayne for a report of an accident. A white pickup truck had left the roadway and struck guy wires to a utility pole. The driver had walked away from the scene. The driver called the next day to report the crash, claiming that the steering had malfunctioned. He was cited for failure to control, leaving the scene of an accident and fictitious plates.

3:50 a.m. To Frayne Dr. for a report of a missing person. A man reported that his girlfriend left around 6:30 p.m. Friday to go out with a female friend and hasn’t been seen since. He said that the friend said the girlfriend was walking home from her home on Stratmore. He said that he tracked her cell phone to Fairborn, then went back to speak to the friend. She said that she had left the girlfriend at a bar in Beavercreek. He was advised to call back if she doesn’t return later in the day.

4:04 a.m. To Campbell Ave. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that her mother had been drinking non-stop since 4:00 p.m. Friday. She said that she was awakened by her mother screaming at her father as he was sleeping. She said that her mother threw a lamp at her father while he was still in bed, then slapped her in the back. The mother was arrested for domestic violence and assault.

11:50 a.m. To Beach Dr. for a report of a theft. A man reported that the woman caring for a female friend stricken with MS has taken about $4000 from the friend’s account. He said that the woman has since been removed from the friend’s account. He said he does not have an address, but believes that she lives in Lewisburg, Ohio.

12:54 p.m. To the 200 block of Galewood for a report of a crash. A driver westbound on Galewood reported that he slowed down to allow another driver to back out of a driveway. The backing driver stated that the other driver tried to go around him. Actions of the two drivers could not be verified.

1:19 p.m. To Stratmore St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that she had an argument with her son because he wanted a ride to his girlfriend’s home in New Carlisle. She said that she was not taking him, so he began walking there. Deputies located the son and returned him to his home. He apologized and said that it won’t happen again.

9:03 p.m. To Milton-Carlisle Rd. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that her daughter has been stealing items from her home. She said that her daughter started using heroin in 2014 and has stolen from her several times. She said that she did not report the thefts because she is her daughter and she was trying to get help for her. She said that her daughter stole several items today, and she is tired of it and wants to press charges. She said that she believes her daughter is staying on Orth Dr.

Bethel Township

Friday 1/15

8:38 a.m. Fraud reported in the 8200 block of Flick Road. RP is a financial manager of a local company. RP had received a phone call from a Cashland in Columbus the prior day stating someone was trying to cash a check from the RP’s company. Cashland was instructed to not honor the check. RP then called the bank and was told someone had cashed a check for $672.05 early that morning at a Cashland. The bank was unable to give the location of the Cahsland but told the RP to file a police report to start a fraud investigation.

10:15 a.m. Disturbance in the 7700 block of Windham Drive. RP was found in the garage and he explained him and his step daughter had gotten into an argument over broken property. RP stated the argument was verbal only. Deputy spoke with the step daughter who said she was just trying to leave with a TV but the RP advised it wasn’t her’s to take. During the discussion with the parties involved the RP’s step son returned home and an argument ensued between the two. All parties were advised to calm down. The step son and daughter gathered belongs and left for the evening.

5:51 p.m. Criminal mischief in the 7900 block of South State Route 202. RP stated an unknown person came onto his property and knocked over his birdbath. Deputy observed it laying on the ground in two pieces.

Saturday 1/16

00:20 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of US Route 40 and South State Route 202. Traffic stop was initiated for a lane violation. At the end of the stop the driver was arrested for OVI.

6:33 p.m. Fraud reported in the 6700 block of Wonder Way. RP’s debit card information was used fraudulently in Beavercreek.

Sunday 1/17

1:48 a.m. Traffic stop in the area of US Route 40 and Palmer Road. A traffic stop was initiated for a stop sign violation, The driver then traveled off the left side of the roadway and drove through the yard located in the 8100 block of US Route 40 striking a tree. The driver was able to jump out of the vehicle before hitting the tree and fled on foot. The driver was caught approximately 40 yards from the truck. This truck was reported stolen out of Clark County. Deputy found a pipe and a clear bag containing a crystal substance (which later tested positive for methamphetamine) on the driver. The rightful owner of the truck was contacted and he stated the three cell phones found around the truck were not his property. Alex Pizzo was booked into the Miami County Jail for fleeing, receiving stolen property, possession of methamphetamine, drug abuse instruments, no operator’s license, stop sign violation and reasonable control.

9:30 p.m. Burglary not in progress in the 4100 block of Rudy Road. No further information available.

Wednesday 1/20

4:57 p.m. Unruly juvenile reported in the 5000 block of Studebaker Road. RP reported a 15-year-old family member left school without permission. It was learned that the juvenile could be at a residence in Springfield. Springfield PD was contacted and they were able to locate her in the vicinity of that residence. The RP requested the juvenile be charged with unruly and was able to retrieve her from the Springfield PD.

Thursday 1/21

8:33 p.m. Assist motorist in the area of E. State Route 571 and S. State Route 201. Deputy stopped to check on an occupied running vehicle on the side of the road. After further investigation the occupant was arrested for physical control.
