The Tecumseh Lady Arrow JV Team celebrated their first win of the season in convincing fashion as they defeated the Benjamin Logan Lady Raider JV Team by a final score of 7-0. The game was played for only 36 minutes as the Lady Raiders were short on personnel as some players were to participate in the varsity contest as well. Both teams played 7 v 7 in order to also ensure adequate substitutions.
 Cassie Sink(So) led off the scoring at 33:00 on a pass from Taylor Henry(Fr) for the first of her 3 hat trick goals, 1-0. Kim Studebaker( Fr) scored next at 31:20 on a penalty kick after having been tripped inside the 18 yard line on the right as she was breaking thru the Raider defense, 2-0. Studebaker quickly scored again at 30:30 on a breakaway off a nice thru pass by Sarah Collins (So), 3-0. Kayla Kiger(So) joined the fun and scored her first goal of the season at 23:46 on a pass from Melissa Brown for a 4-0 advantage. The Arrows dominated possession throughout the half and with the huge advantage coach Craig Lindsey and Mirriah Myers put stipulations on the team that they had to connect on 5 consecutive passes before they were allowed to go for the goal. In spite of the restrictions the Arrows scored again as Collins finished off a great pass from Taylor Henry( Fr) at 17:13, 5-0. Cassie Sink finished the scoring with goals at 13:12 and 10:04 for the 7-0 final.  In the half the Arrows had 48 intercepts and won 14 of 18 50/50 balls. They outshot the Raiders 18-0. While sophomore Alexa Gallo had no work in the Tecumseh goal outside of a few clearances but her counterpart, Amber Hites, had a busy day with 10 saves for Ben Logan. With the win the JV team improves to 1-1 on the season. They play again next Wednesday at Catholic Central. The game time is 5:30pm   Comments (0) |
