GOSHEN – Despite having six wrestlers participating in the Ohio High School Wrestling District Championships, the Tecumseh Arrows could not advance any of their grapplers to the state meet.  Only the top four wrestlers in each weight class advanced to the state meet, but the Arrows did have two guys enjoy a sixth-place finish at the district meet held at Goshen High School.

At the 160 pound weight class, it was Jeremy Strahan finishing sixth, after falling in the fifth/sixth place match.  He lost to Brandon Arahood of Eaton 3-1 in that match.
Strahan opened the districts with an 8-3 win over Tyler Davidson of Ross, and came back by defeating number-one seed Jay Campbell of Chillicothe 6-2 to advance.
He then had to face another number-one seed in the next round, and lost a major decision 22-8 to Neal Williams, dropping Strahan into the losers brackets.
Strahan lost to Andrea Nealsen of New Richmond via decision in 3:37, then lost to Arahood in the final match to determine fifth place.
Also competing for a fifth-place finish was Zeke Eier at 189 pounds.  Eier opened his action with an easy technical fall over Ryan Dierker of Wyoming in the first round, but came back with a tough loss in 3:13 to David Day of Valley View to drop to the consolation round.
Eier then defeated Jacob Morris of Oxford Talawanda 21-11, to advance, and beat Chris Cash from Central Buckeye Conference foe Urbana 6-4.
As Eier moved on in the consolation round, he then lost to Conner Maglecic of Norwood 9-6, setting him up for a chance at fifth place.
The Arrows junior fell short in the fifth/sixth place game, losing to John Robinson of New Lexington 6-1, to finish sixth overall in the age group.
For the other Arrows wrestlers who advanced, they did not make it to the place rounds.  At 140 pounds, Daniel Crowley lost his opening match against top-seeded Joe Conrad of Ross in 5:39, but Crowley did bounce back with a nice 5-0 win in the consolation round against Anthony Carmone of Goshen.  He then was eliminated from the districts with a loss to Peter Laux of Logan Elm in 0:51.
At 145 pounds, Chuck Buchanan shocked top seeded Matt Schaffer of Roger Bacon in 1:14 to advance, but his luck ran out there.
In his next match, Buchanan lost to Jordan Fraley of Miami Trace in 4:42, then was eliminated by Chris McDermitt of Gallia 5-2.
Corey Mollette lost his two matches at 171, falling to Paul Gryniuk of Washington Court House 8-6, then fell to Will Garner of FInneytown by the same score. Both wrestlers were number one seeds.
Finally at 215, Wes Brewer was pinned in his two losses, falling to Bryan Day of Valley View and Taylor Golden of Sheridan.
