 SIDNEY – Behind five championship performances, the Tecumseh Lady Arrows accumulated enough points to claim the title at the Sidney Invitational last week at Sidney High School. The Lady Arrows scored 107 points as a team, six more than the second place Piqua Indians. After those two teams, there was a 20 point dropoff for third place, as nine teams participated in the event. Leading the way for Tecumseh was Jasmine Redman, as she won or was part of four championship finishes. Redman won the 1600 meter run, with a time of 5:32.94, which was 15 seconds faster than her closest competitor. Teammate Carma Berry was seventh. Also in the 3200 meter run, Redman claimed the victory with a time of 12:27.88, finishing ahead of teammate Caitlin Flack who ran a 12:38.03. Also, Addie Biteman was sixth, running a 13:37.83. The 4x800 team of Jaci Combs, Leona McDaniel, Redman, and Flack captured the title in 10:39.24, eleven seconds ahead of their closest competition from Troy. Finally, the 4x400 team of Casey Cope, Combs, McDaniel and Redman won that event by four seconds over Piqua. Tecumseh ran a 4:28.69. McDaniel captured the 800 meter run in 2:38.52, less than one second ahead of Combs, who finished second in 2:39.22. In the 100 meter dash, Bianca Quisenberry placed third in the meet with a time of 13.81 seconds, while right behind her is another Lady Arrows freshman Brittany Frappier, who ran a 13.92. Frappier also placed sixth in the 200 meter dash with a finish of 29.89. Also placing sixth in the 4x200 was the Tecumseh team of Jaclyn Blumenschein, Miranda Dusko, Rebekah Woosley and Biteman, with a time of 2:14.85. Cope, Frappier, Quisenberry and Anna Scarff finished fourth in the 4x100 relay, with a time of 55.62. They were less than two second behind the leaders from Piqua, in the close contest. Cope also finished second in the 400, running a 1:07.03, while Scarff was fifth in the 300 Hurdles with a finish of 59.10. In the long jump, Quisenberry (15-feet, 3.5-inches) and Cope (14-feet, 6.5-inches) placed second and third respectively, as Quisenberry finished less than an inch behind the leader. For the Tecumseh boys, they finished eighth overall with 14 points. Their 4x800 team of Matt Hayden, Eric Allen, Joe Nau, and Luke Miller finished eighth with a time of 9:47.87, while the 4x200 team finished fifth overall with a time of 1:39.93. That team consists of Nick Dysinger, Jeremy Herdman, Charles Buchanan and Daymon Mason. In the 400 meter run, Herdman took home third place with a time of 55.81 seconds. The 4x100 team of Seth Gray, Ron Mason, David Canady and Trae Cragette was seventh with a time of 52.97. In the final relay event, the 4x400 team of Dysinger, Herdman, Buchanan and Elijah Brady. In the 800 meter run, Luke Miller was eighth running a 2:24.40.   Comments (0) |
