It was business as usual for the Tecumseh track squad last week, as they competed in both the Butler Invitational, and the Milton-Union Bulldog Classic.  While they didn’t finish near the top for the team title, several individual runners or relay teams put on a good performance for the Arrows.

At the Butler Invitational,  the 4x800 girls relay team gathered some team points for the Lady Arrows, finishing fourth in the event.  The team of Jasmine Redman, Caitlyn Flack, Jaci Combs and Leona McDaniel finished the event with a time of 10:27.39.  Troy won that event with a 10:14.40.

While the short sprint races were unsuccessful, it was Redman who nearly pulled off another win in a distance event.  Redman ran a 5:19.71 in the 1600 meter run, finishing second overall, and losing by only one second to the champion Marah Charbel of Butler.

In the 800 meter run, it was McDaniel who placed for Tecumseh, as she finished eighth with a time of 2:44.53.  Charbel again won that race, finishing 16 seconds ahead of McDaniel.

Redman came back and made her statement in the 3200 meter run, with a four-second win over Jessica Childers of Northmont, as Redman completed the event in 11:54.78,  Teammate Flack also placed in the event, finishing sixth overall with a time of 12:48.96.

One thing to note is that the Lady Arrows were without a full squad, as some of the members of the team were not able to attend this event.

Also last week, the Lady Arrows competed in the Bulldog Classic, and had several more top performances.

The 4x800 relay team again was successful, as they finished fifth in that event, with a time of 10:36.07, just a bit shy of their time at Butler.  Minster rolled to an easy win, with a time under 10 minutes.

Back came Redman again in the distance races, as she won the 1600 meter run, as the junior finished the race with a 5:19.38, with a comfortable nine-second win over her closest competitor.  Freshman teammate Jordi Harrison also finished in the top eight, placing sixth with a time of 5:43.33.

Combs came back in the 800 to place eighth, earning Tecumseh one point, and running a 2:34.39.

The duo of Redman and Harrison both came back and scored in the 3200 meter run, as Redman was second, running a time of 11:38.42, less than one second behind the winner.  Harrison finished fourth with a time of 12:39.32.

For the boys in this meet, their 4x200 relay team finished fifth overall in that race, running a 1:37.64.

Nick Dysinger ran a solid race in the 400 meter dash, as he finished fifth with a time of 52.56, and Jeremy Herdman also scored for the Arrows, finishing seventh (53.39).

The Arrows scored again in the 4x400, placing fifth.  Also for Tecumseh, Jake Masters placed in both the discus (third, 128-feet, 4-inches) and shot put (seventh, 41-feet, 9.5-inches.).  Also in the shot, Tecumseh’s T.J. Sigler finished fourth (43-feet, 1-inch).

Dysinger and Riley Gault tied for eighth place in the high jump, both earning Tecumseh a half point.
