New Carlisle Deputies are investigating an incident where a 37 year old victim suffered a gunshot wound.
The New Carlisle Fire and Rescue transported the man to the awaiting Careflight medical helicopter, which landed at a nearby church parking lot and took him to Miami Valley Hospital. At press time his condition is unknown. The incident occurred around 9:15 pm at a home in the 105 South Henry Street in New Carlisle. A person at the home said the male victim suffered a gunshot to the abdomen and was alert and talking when medics arrived. Clark County deputies said that the two men were looking at a 45-caliber handgun. They said the gun had recently been purchased, and was modified so that the trigger would have a "smoother pull." The friend said he believed the gun was unloaded. While they were looking at it, the gun discharged. Deputies confirmed that the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach. Deputies arrested a Springfield man, Keith E. Griffin Jr., 32. He is charged with failure to comply with a police officer, tampering with evidence, and traffic citations. Comments (0) |
