Wednesday, 09 January 2013 00:00

On Sunday, December 30, 2012, Beau Frank went into the Rite Aid located at 120 S. Main St. New Carlisle, to rob the place , but his attempt was foiled since the clerk knew him and they called each other by first names.  Frank then hitched a ride 3 miles south to the Rite Aid in Park Layne, located at 564 McAdams Dr.
According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call came in from the Park Layne Rite Aid regarding a robbery.  The clerk stated “A male suspect came into the business and approached the counter; he bent over to conceal his face and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk then advised the suspect that “this is not funny” and the suspect responded with the words “that he had a gun and would blow her brains out if she did not give him all the money and everything under the drawer, as his right hand remained in his jacket pocket”.  With the clerk believing he had a gun, she opened the register and handed over numerous bills, placing them on the counter.  The suspect grabbed the cash and fled the store with dropping 2 twenty dollar bills.  The suspect ran south around the building towards the neighboring car wash business.  The store was locked down, waiting on the arrival of the Sheriff’s Department.
Upon arrival of the Sheriff’s Department, they secured the scene and requested assistance from the Huber Heights Police K-9.  When the Huber Heights Police K-9 arrived on the scene, the K-9 handler began tracking a scent that led south from Rite Aid to the nearby car wash.  Additional deputies checked the area and began processing the scene.  Deputies along with investigators from the Sheriff’s Office, secured evidence (boot print in snow) that led their investigation in the direction of a particular suspect, the identity of the suspect (Beau Frank) was confirmed by witnesses of the area as well as the Rite Aid store employees.  After further investigation, the location of Beau Frank was identified, and he was located at ACE Hardware on South Dayton Lakeview Rd, where he was trying to purchase a chainsaw.  Frank was taken into custody and was returned to the scene for some further confirmations.  After the investigation was completed and evidence collected, Frank was transported to the Clark County Jail and booked in for Aggravated Robbery.  Frank was arraigned on January 2, 2013 at 10:30 am in Municipal Court, with a bond being set at $25,000.00.  Frank requested for a Public Defender and a preliminary hearing was set for January 7, 2013 at 2 pm.
