Tecumseh girls basketball coach Danielle Thomas called it one of the "bigtime" league games that the Lady Arrows must win in order to claim the first Central Buckeye Conference title in 19 years at Tecumseh.

Kenton Ridge and Tippecanoe are the main roadblocks.
The Lady Arrows are now 3-0 this season in those bigtime games, coming from double digits down late in the second quarter, and used a solid team effort to win their fourteenth consecutive game on the season 72-69 over Kenton Ridge in overtime.  With the win, Tecumseh now enjoys a two game conference lead over both Tippecanoe and Bellefontaine, and has to play both of them again this season.
"This puts us in the drivers seat for the league," Thomas said after the game.  "These seniors have that goal high on their list, and now we need to take care of things the next few weeks."
Both teams came out and traded baskets in the opening four minutes of the game.  Once the Cougars took the 9-7 lead, they ran off a 13-3 run to take a 21-10 lead over Tecumseh late in the first quarter.  Paige McCreary scored 11 points in the opening period, and Kenton Ridge was in control.
Back came the Lady Arrows, and it was freshman Lindsey Nartker starting the charge.  She scored five points in one minute, to cut the Cougars lead to 21-17, and when Bianca Quisenberry had a steal and layup, Tecumseh trailed by two early in the second period.
Then came another huge run by the Cougars, running off nine straight to push their lead back to 30-19 with 3:30 left in the half.
Danielle Franklin, another Tecumseh freshman, broke the string with a layup, but Tecumseh headed into the halftime locker room trailing 34-25 at the break.
"Kenton Ridge came to play, but I was really impressed with the play of our freshman," Thomas said, praising Nartker and Danielle Franklin.  "Without them in the first half, we aren't in the game."
Nartker had a huge third quarter, and brought the Lady Arrows back from a halftime deficit with eight points in the first 2:30 of the period, and Tecumseh trailed 37-35, and the Lady Arrows tried to even the score.  Quisenberry, who led everyone with 26 points, scored seven points in a span of one minute to bring the home squad to within three, and as the third quarter ended, Tecumseh trailed 54-50.
Tecumseh finally took the lead when Megan Christmann scored with 4:10 left in the game, but Cougars freshman Sydney Bates quickly game them the lead again.  Quisenberry then said enough is enough.
The senior, who scored her 2,000th point last week against Northmont, scored six of Tecumseh's final eight points, and all of the Lady Arrows points in overtime, to give them the win.
In addition to 26 from Quisenberry, Nartker added 20 and Franklin had 11 for Tecumseh (14-1, 7-0).
Tecumseh travels to Tippecanoe tonight for a 7:30 contest.
