The official National Weather Service statement says that we received 8 to 11 inches of snow Friday and Saturday.

And area kids are asking "Why not on a school day?"

The snowfall resulted in Level Two Snow Emergencies in both Clark and Miami counties, indicating that the roads were "extremely hazardous" for travel.  But there were very few accidents attributed to the weather.

All area schools dismissed classes early on Friday.

Saturday's wind proved to be a problem for snow removal crews.  Blowing and drifting snow would cover many roads within minutes of being plowed.

What we have on the ground should stay around for a while.  Temperatures are not expected to get above freezing until at least next week.
