The Donnelsville Mall has been in business since the early 1990s providing a spot where families could stop by and pick up a few essentials without driving into Springfield or New Carlisle.

Roberta Legge has greeted the customers and enjoyed seeing them as they stopped in at the convenience store over the years, but she is ready to retire.

Roberta told the New Carlisle News that her son is too busy with his agri-business to take over the store and she has worked with the public her entire life but they have agreed it is time to close the doors to this small town institution.

The family is not sure of the exact closing date; however it is some time in the very near future. The family does not own the building, but they do own the business and it is unclear at this time what the closing will look like or if someone will come forward and buy the business.

One thing is for certain according to Roberta, she will miss seeing the people who stop in to say hello and pick up a loaf of bread or a gallon of milk.
