Clark County Sheriff Deputies executed a search warrant at 106 S. Smith St. Friday afternoon.

A deputy initiated a traffic stop earlier in the day and found evidence of possible drug trafficking. Two individuals were charged criminally with several drug possession offenses.

A search warrant was obtained and the warrant was executed.

Deputies recovered 2.8 pounds of methamphetamine, a firearm and a large amount of drug paraphernalia.

No arrests have been made at this time as a result of the search.

“This is a victory for the citizens of New Carlisle, and an example of why their Police Levy, and the services it provides are so important to protecting the city,” said Sheriff Deb Burchett. “Those drugs seized today will not filter out to poison the citizens of that community and the surrounding area.”

The incident remains under investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Department, and no names will be released until the investigation has completed.
