Wot-a-Dog New Owners Plan to Reopen March 1

Stephen Prechtl and his wife have been looking at purchasing the Wot-a-Dog drive in for the past few years. Recently they completed the purchase and plan to reopen the popular root beer stand March 1, 2018.

Prechtl had the drive in on his bread route for over a decade and was approached by the owner to consider taking on the business venture. At first he wasn’t really interested, but after talking with his wife, they agreed that this would be a good idea for their family and the New Carlisle community.

The restaurant is known for their foot long coney dogs, root beer, Wot-a-Burger and the Rebel Burger according to Prechtl. Guests will find that the original recipes are coming back and in the future will see a little twist to the menu as the business operates until October 31 next year.

There are only a few drive-in restaurants still in business making the Wot-a Dog a bit of nostalgia in the Clark County area. “We want to get back to the roots” said Prechtl of the business plan and he hopes the community will be looking forward to spring when the weather warms up and the desire to get out and enjoy a hotdog and root beer float are on everyone’s mind.
