Bethel’s football team jumped out to a 42-point first quarter lead last Friday against the Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks, and never looked back, cruising to a 63-6 rout in a CCC game.
“We got off to a good start,” said Bethel coach Scott Clodfelter. The Bees led 21-0 only three minutes into the game, and with five minutes left in the first quarter, Bethel was in control 42-0.
“They were running man defense and we completed a bunch of passes, and did a nice job.”
Jacob Evans scored from 46 yards out, then returned an interception 30 yards to take a quick 14-0 lead.
Jacob Evans was 7-9 passing for the Bees for 213 yards, and added 10 rushes for 100 yards. Ian Anderson had a big night with nine rushes for 132 yards and caught four passes for 121 yards and two scores.
Tyler Terry added 63 yards on the ground and caught three more for 92 yards and a touchdown.
Also for the Bees, Jacob Ullmer ran five times for 71 yards and a score.
Bethel returns to action Friday night, hosting Dayton Christian at 7:30.
