Tecumseh and Northwestern battled it out throughout the entire day at Tecumseh on Saturday, and when the dust settled on the mats, the Arrows walked away as the Clark County Clash wrestling tournament, which brought in the eight county schools for a large meet in Reynolds Gymnasium.

The Arrows scored a team total of 199 points, with the Warriors second at 183.5. Also placing fourth was Greenon as the Knights earned 115.0 points.

At 106, Greenon freshman Hensley Daytona earned a first place finish with five wins, while finishing second was Northwestern’s Michael Moersh.

Gavyn Sineff lost in the finals at 113, as the Tecumseh junior fell short 2-0 to take second place in the weight class. William Bailey from Northwestern was fifth and Alyssa Turner of Greenon placed seventh.

Tecumseh sophomore Blake Donnan finished second in the 120 pound class, as he lost in the championship match to Bryce Davis of Kenton Ridge by tech fall. Keith Evans, also from Tecumseh, finished third as he defeated Greenon’s Evan Fagan while Tecumseh’s Stanley Gibson and Nathan Arnold, both Arrows wrestlers competed for fifth place.

At 126, Hunter Donnan had a solid tournament and finished as the champion of the weight class, defeating Northwestern’s Evan Davis in the finals. Also winning his weight class from Tecumseh was 132 pound sophomore Cyle Wells, defeating Chase Trainer of Greenon in the finals. In the seventh place match, Tecumseh’s Brian Stone defeated Devin Current of Northwestern to finish seventh.

Picking up his 100th win of his career during the meet was Northwestern’s Jacob Lees at 138, as he dominated his competition on the day and earned the win over Lucas Rodgers of Tecumseh in the finals 11-3. Kameron Cox from Greenon placed third as he defeated Bryce Stamps of Kenton Ridge 3-2 in the third-place match.

Coming in at 145 was Northwestern freshman Evan Hager, winning the weight class with a pin in the finals over Nick Humphreys of Shawnee in the finals. Joseph Campbell from Tecumseh placed third.

Continuing the success at 152 for the Arrows was Alec Hall, as he won the finals against Grant Hodson of Northeastern’ via pin. Northwestern’s Nathan Dewey placed third and Samo Olejnicek of Tecumseh was fifth.

In the 160 pound weight class, Northwestern’s Steven Monroe competed in the finals, where he lost via pin to Jesse Mitchell of Southeasterm to finish second. Hunter Elam finished fourth for the Arrows and Greenon’s Manuel Biderra placed sixth.

Another runner-up finisher at 170 came from Tommy Rowe, as the Tecumseh junior fell 5-2 in the championship match to Jacob Yost of Springfield. Northwestern’s Millard Rife advanced to the fifth place match, where he lost to finish sixth.

Brendon Hartsell of Northwestern placed third overall in the 182 class, with Drew Bayless of Tecumseh finishing fifth. At 195, Nathan Snyder of Northwestern continued his strong season as he cruised to the title with a 12-0 win against Greenon’s Levi Morrison in the finals. Tecumseh freshman Aaron Doyle finished fifth.

At 220, Josh Johnson advanced to the finals, but the Greenon junior lost to Joseph Cochran of Springfield to finish second. Tyler Jenkins, also from Greenon, finished fifth and Tecumseh’s Hayden Palmer was seventh.

Finally at heavyweight, Shawn Ingle of Northwestern defeated Alex Mills of Tecumseh in the finals, while in the third-place match, the same two school were represented as Greg Snyder of Northwestern defeated Greg Asher of the Arrows. Greenon’s Garrett Camden finished fifth.
