The family of Army Staff Sergeant Wesley R. Williams is joined by the Tecumseh Local staff, students, and community at the flag pole dedicated to his memory. SSgt Williams (THS ‘05) was killed in action in Kandahar, Afghanistan on December 10, 2012. An annual memorial service is held on this date as a show of respect for a young soldier who gave his life protecting his country and those he loved. SSgt Williams is a member of the 2015 Tecumseh Hall of Honor.
New Carlisle Elementary Librarian Mrs. Riffell combined her love of books and Christmas to create a unique tree for the fourth and fifth graders who visit the school’s library.
Mr. Tyler Spears, sixth grade band director at Tecumseh Middle School, leads the band during their holiday concert at Tecumseh High School on Tuesday, December 8th. The band performed four musical numbers including “Jolly Old St. Nicholas” and “Jingle Bells.”
The seventh and eighth grade bands under the direction of Mrs. Anna Frascone combined to perform twoselections at the middle school holiday concert, “Under the Double Eagle” and “Christmas Tribute.”
Student Council Members at New Carlisle Elementary extend a thank you to the Tecumseh community for their donations of hats, gloves, scarves, socks, and blankets collected during the recent Warm Wishes Drive. These items will be included with the gift baskets that Impact Bethel will be distributing to area families.
Tecumseh Middle School Assistant Principal Lauren McFarland is pictured with the Students of the Month for November. Students recognized for their creativity were Madisen Pinkston, Piper Robinson, Miranda Guisinger, Candice Boggs, and Vivian Shanahan.
Tecumseh High School’s Mixed Chorus under the direction of Mrs. Melinda Lombard caroled throughout the district on Friday singing holiday favorites such as “I Wonder as I Wander” and “Let It Snow.” On this stop in the middle school library, senior members of the chorus performed a special rendition of “Carol of the Bells.”
From the second floor of the middle school, The Tecumseh Marching Arrows entertained craft show visitors. Earlier in the day the band had marched in New Carlisle’s Christmas parade. Band members and their parents helped with the set-up and clean up of the event.
The Tecumseh Band Boosters sponsored this year’s annual craft show at Tecumseh Middle School on Saturday, December 5th. Community members visited over 75 vendor booths. Special guests included Santa Claus and Anna and Elsa from Disney’s Frozen.
