Tyree Honored as Rotary Citizen of the Month

Lainey Tyree was honored at the January 26th meeting of the New Carlisle Rotary Club as Tecumseh High School’s Citizen of the Month.

For three years, Tyree has been a student worker at Tecumseh Middle School in the Intense Resource Room.  According to teacher Raynee Shepherd, Tyree is a tremendous help in the classroom, encouraging and interacting with students and completing chores that allow the teacher and paraprofessionals more work time with the students.  “Lainey models appropriate behavior, interactions, and work ethic for the students,” said Shepherd.  “She reads with the students, compliments their work and behavior, and always asks about their lives.  Our students look forward to Lainey’s work time every day.”

In her nomination, Shepherd noted that the adults in the resource room have watched Lainey grow over the past three years, navigating some difficult circumstances yet maintaining a positive attitude and managing to stay strong.  “Lainey has been a great role model for our class and has a bright future ahead of her,” Shepherd concluded.

Tyree is the daughter of Jennifer and Shannon Tyree and is a Varsity Basketball Cheerleader.

100 DAYS OF SCHOOL!
