Book Sale 0421 003On April 21, 22, and 23, 2016, the Friends of the New Carlisle Public Library will once again hold their spring book sale at 111 E. Lake Avenue. The hours of operation are from 12:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, and from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The Friends have a huge selection of fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, DVDs, and children’s books from which to choose. Hardback books are available for $1.00. Paperback books cost .50 and children’s books sell for .25. Participants can also purchase a durable canvas book bag for $8.50.

The Friends are currently raising funds to purchase Audio/Visual Technology Upgrades for the Library including a DVD cleaning machine and a flat screen TV that will be used to provide information to patrons about new library acquisitions and programs.

The Friends are always looking for like-minded members who are interested in helping to support their goals. The Friends work to engage library patrons, the community, and organizations interested in books, programs and services that support the library and encourage literacy. Membership costs $5 for an individual, $10 for a family and $25 for businesses and organizations  The rewards far outweigh the small donation by providing the opportunity to spread democracy, literacy, and learning to our community. Application forms may be picked up at the circulation desk or on the New Carlisle Library Web Page.

Take a few minutes on Thursday, Friday or Saturday to check out what the Friends are about and pick up a book or two.
