The Clark County Combined Health District (CCCHD) will be partnering with the New Carlisle Farmer’s Market to present: A Day in Wellville. This one day event will bring health and wellness activities to the families and citizens of New Carlisle.
This one day event will be on Saturday June 25, 2016 beginning at 8 am.
- 8:30AM a 1 mile family-friendly, fun walk through New Carlisle led by Health Commissioner Charles Patterson
- Free to participate- register beforehand or starting at 8AM the day of the event
- Walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome
- The walk will begin and end on Washington Street
Once the walk is over feel free to take a stroll through Wellville.
- This will be located on East Washington Street
- Exhibitors will include CCCHD, New Carlisle Sports & Fitness Club, and Community Health Foundation to name a few.
- Once you are finished with wellness agencies feel free to check out the New Carlisle Farmer’s Market, which is open from 9AM-12:30PM.
Why is this important? Clark County ranks high in obesity rates in both adults and children. The county also reports low rates of physical activity. Exercise can be a problem in rural areas as a result of busy and dangerous roadways that may not be conducive to family walks. Finally, we hope that members of the community may utilize some of the resources to them that are free or low cost, including bike trails, parks and soon to be built new playground.
