The Clark County Sheriff's Office has been informed by several citizens today of a phone scam being done. The caller advises they are Detective Snyder with the Clark County Sheriff's Office. The scam caller then advises the caller they owe money for a fine and they must pay the money owed or a warrant would be issued for them or they would be arrested. This is a phone scam, and no such calls are made from the Clark County Sheriff's Office like this.

At no time will anyone from the Clark County Sheriff's Office call you to ask you for money for a fine owed. No money is ever taken by this office for any such offenses and any fines for any actual criminal or traffic offenses are handled by the courts at the court hearing. Again, no one will contact you by phone to ask you to send money or drop off money to our office.

If you receive any such call, please do not give any personal information to the caller and do not for any reason send any money or obtain any gift cards they may ask for as this is also something the caller may try to do and have you obtain gift cards and call them back with the card numbers. If you do receive any such call, please simply hang up on the caller.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Clark County Sheriff's Office at 937-328-2560.
