Byron Dale Spence, 77, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday August 25, 2010 in St. John’s Nursing Home.

He was born October 30, 1932 in Portsmouth, Ohio, the son of Andrew H. and Edna Alice (Graff) Spence.

Mr. Spence enjoyed collecting coins and working with cars. He was the owner of Dale’s Body Shop. Survivors include his wife of 47 years; Cora Mae (Boster) Spence, three children; Sandra (Martin) Krise, West Chester, Ohio, Rick (Maria) Spence, Huber Heights, Ohio, Stephen C. “Steve” (Delana) Spence, Springfield, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two sisters; Wilma Lewis, New Carlisle, Judy (Ronald) Lyons, Medway, one brother; Jerry Spence, Medway and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. Visitation will be held form 6:00PM until 8:00PM Tuesday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 8:00PM in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Nursing Home.
