Mr. Burkholder, Mrs. Anderson, and Mrs. Myers graciously agreed to Kiss a Pig if we met our goal. The pig was agreeable!

Donnelsville Elementary School, New Carlisle Church of the Brethren, and the Korrect Plumbing (Ivan and Clara Patterson) Foundation joined efforts in a service project for Heifer International. Our initial goal was to raise enough to purchase an Ark, which provides animals for people in need here in the United States and all around the world. Through their “pass it on program” entire villages have benefited as individuals receiving an animal must pass young on to neighbors. With training on animal care and the delivery of the animal, parents can send their children to school, have enough to eat and have money to build homes for their families.

The service project netted over $10,000, with Heifer International matching that amount. So what began as a $5,000 goal (1 ark), became $10,000 (2 arks). And with the matching money became $20,000. Congratulations all who supported this worthy project!
